Business Overview

StepStone Private Debt (“SPD”) is a global private debt investor with over $43bn in AUM/AUA including $22 billion of assets under management as of December 2021. SPD covers the breadth of the private debt market and constructs bespoke portfolios on a primary, secondary and co-investment basis. SPD focuses on two areas of the market: performing and non-performing debt across the corporate, real estate, and infrastructure sectors. SPD is a subsidiary of the StepStone Group, a global private markets firm specializing in Private Equity, Infrastructure, Private Credit and Real Estate.

Position Overview

The Senior Analyst will work as part of the SPAR team and is expected to perform Fundamental Core Responsibilities described below. The Senior Analyst will work closely within the Core Processes on the Private Debt side as well as with other teams like Fund Accounting and may support the Client Leads in their work to support client deliverables and provide analytical support to the Firm’s Investment team.

Fundamental Core Responsibilities

  • Processes data from private markets general partners, including entry, review, and reconciliation of private debt assets, capital account statements, cashflows, financial statements and report operating metrics
  • Will complete daily assigned work that support team wide goals
  • While performing Fundamental Core data processing responsibilities, is accountable for maintaining quality standards and prioritizing tasks to ensure deadlines are met.  Any concerns that a deadline may not be met are escalated in advance to Functional Team Captains and client teams
  • While processing private markets data, identifies areas of concern due to insufficient or inaccurate information and escalate to appropriate Functional Team Captains and client teams
  • Develops cumulative Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities to successfully complete all Fundamental Core responsibilities
  • Brings up ideas / processes that would qualify for improvement

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience 
  • Possesses a Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business preferred)
  • Working knowledge of financial accounting and demonstrated ability to learn new performance and portfolio reporting systems
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Excel
