Wayfair is currently seeking a Senior People Analyst to lead our business intelligence reporting and lifecycle surveys workstreams. In this role, you will sit on the People Analytics team and analyze trends across the talent lifecycle. As a Senior Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our talent strategy and enhancing the employee experience through data-driven insights. You will leverage your analytical expertise to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and empower leaders to make informed decisions across the talent lifecycle.

In your role, you will manage our Visier talent data visualization software and identify new opportunities for reporting automation and scale. You will help support budget reporting for our Talent leadership team. You will drive insights and identify opportunities to improve the employee experience by leading our Voice engagement survey.

The ideal candidate will have an affinity for solving business problems through innovative approaches - quantitative and/or qualitative - and will be able to keep an eye on the bigger picture while diving deep into our data sets and processes. This role requires regular interaction with senior stakeholders so communication of our results is key.

What You’ll Do

  • Initiate and execute analyses to evaluate talent metrics using GBQ, Python, and/or R
  • Wrangle data across sources, communicating and justifying logic and assumptions
  • Create visualizations and dashboards to effectively facilitate ongoing monitoring of metrics using Visier, our visualization platform. Flex into other tools like Microsoft Excel, Qualtrics and Google Data Looker Studio for custom analyses.
  • Partner with our Talent data engineering team and stakeholders to acquire new data sources for our GBQ tables and Visier platform
  • Support monthly budget reporting for our Talent leadership team
  • Modify and innovate upon analyses, using statistics and models to derive insights
  • Turn analyses into actionable data-driven insights, and make business recommendations to close gaps 
  • Present a cohesive story with data and results, crafting a storyline that is easy to follow and that resonates with a senior audience
  • Respect the sensitivity, privacy, and confidentiality of candidate and employee data by adhering to best practices for data governance
  • Partner with the Talent teams and other business stakeholders to design reporting that address high-level business questions 
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across teams, levels, and leadership
  • Mentor and onboard junior employees within the team to build leadership skill set

What You’ll Need

  • Degree in a quantitative field like Business Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, or Statistics
  • 2+ years of experience in an analytical role in a fast-paced environment (in addition to any graduate education) 
  • Extensive experience using Python/R and SQL to write scalable code; experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) a bonus
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and visualization tools preferred
  • Strong demonstrated ability to solve complex and ambiguous business problems leveraging data analysis and modeling; Intuitive sense of how quantitative and technical work aligns closely with business priorities and business value
  • Integrity and honesty, and, above all, a respect for complete confidentiality
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where there can be degrees of ambiguity
  • Ability to identify and succinctly summarize roadblocks and constraints, propose potential solutions, and drive towards resolution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to translate sophisticated analyses into a logical, convincing business narrative to share with a variety of business stakeholders
