As a Senior Android Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of this journey, driving innovation and creating solutions that empower millions of users globally. In the Comodato and Receivables squad, you will be responsible for shaping intuitive, data-driven experiences that give users real-time visibility into their financial activity and upcoming receivables. By designing scalable flows and leading the evolution of key financial features, this role will empower users with transparency, foresight, and confidence in managing their transactions.

About the role

As a Senior Android Developer in the BR Market Tribe, you will join a cross-functional team responsible for ensuring the adequation of the Sumup products to the Brazilian market with strong collaboration with other Core tribes such as Bank, Payment, Lending, Hardware and POS.

On a daily basis you will be delivering tools that simplify financial operations and improve daily business management,  strengthening merchant trust and reinforcing SumUp as their long-term partner.

What You’ll Do:
  • Collaborate with software developers, QAs, designers, product managers, and other key stakeholders to design and implement Mobile features,
  • Drive Android-specific features and enhancements by bridging the Brazilian market with Hardware, POS, and Lending teams, ensuring technical alignment and compatibility with merchants’ needs."
  • Ensure smooth deployments, continuous integration, and support existing functionalities in the SuperApp,
  • Actively contribute to tool and technology selection, driving backend-related discussions and decisions.
  • Develop and evolve features in the Receivables and Comodato domains within the SuperApp, enabling merchants to manage contracts and optimize their cash flow.
  • Identify and close monitoring and reliability gaps, resolving issues and strengthening system resilience.
  • Define and track key metrics to measure app usage and feature impact.
  • Drive knowledge sharing by mentoring junior engineers, enforcing best practices, and contributing high-quality, reliable code. Lead code reviews and pair programming sessions to boost team skills, strengthen code quality, and deliver robust, maintainable solutions
  • Shape a collaborative team culture through proactive engagement, structured communication, and continuous refinement of engineering rituals. Inspire alignment, learning, and teamwork to ensure the team performs at its best while delivering impactful results.
You’ll Be Great for This Role If You Have:
  • Native development experience with Kotlin and Java.
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose, as well XML-based views.
  • Modular Architecture, MVVM, SOLID, REST APIs.
  • Unit testing and dependency injection.
  • Firebase Crashlytics,
  • Proficiency in English in order to actively participate in meetings with people from other countries.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience with hybrid frameworks, such as KMP (preferable) or Flutter.
