Senior Associate - Portfolio Management

Position Overview:As a Portfolio Management Senior Associate at StepStone, your role is pivotal in leveraging data analytics, model testing, and implementation to produce outputs benefiting both internal and external stakeholders. This position entails managing liquidity and constructing portfolios tailored to diverse client needs, risk / return profiles, and liquidity requirements. You will collaborate with Data Science, Research, and SPAR teams to acquire, clean, and understand available data fields. You will propose, communicate, fit, and assess model performance against varied problem statements.
Essential Job Functions:- Utilize MySQL, Python, and R for data retrieval and wrangling. Knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
- Employ built-in and customized functions in Python and R to develop models and analyze data.
- Collaborate with the web development group to deploy models using a Django API.
- Effectively communicate model outputs, assumptions, and limitations both internally and externally.
- Engage in internal and external discussions on the merits of models and analyses.
- Demonstrate an independent and efficient working style, translating big picture ideas into actionable model output.
- Bachelors, Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Econometrics or a related field.
- 6-8 years of experience in quantitative research, risk modeling, portfolio construction, or performance attribution at a financial institution.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
- High level of confidentiality
- Proficiency in private markets and financial modeling.
- Deep understanding of statistical model building and data analysis; Expertise in numerical algorithms.
Salary Range: $125,000 - $145,000
The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience. The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
