YOUR MISSION

We are looking for talented and passionate engineers to join the Experimentation Platform team within our Data Platform Cluster.

In our cross-functional team, you will be focused on building our internal next-generation platform to pave the way for a diverse set of experimentation capabilities within Glovo. This team provides a crucial platform service for all internal teams and therefore your experience in building stable and scalable solutions is a key element. Besides technical excellence, we are also leading the culture of experimentation providing hands-on support and analytical capabilities to all Glovo engineering teams.

THE JOURNEY

• Become an expert in the end-to-end journey of experimentation. From setting up hypotheses, variant assignments, SDK implementations, user interfaces, data capture to analytical pipelines.
• Actively contribute to our product development roadmap and lead high-impact projects. 
• Design and implement innovative solutions for one of Glovo's busiest and most data-intensive services, where your expertise will shape the future of high-traffic platforms. 
• Keep our tier-1 system up and running ensuring that our business runs smoothly.
• Mentor engineers across tech teams and share knowledge to make them grow.
• Develop software using modern engineering approaches and agile principles.
• Make our technology and our team scale as the business grows.
• Own your deliverables from start to finish. Deliver high-quality cross-functional solutions within the scope of the team.
• Participate in technical decisions and provide advisory to other teams.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

• A degree in Computer Science or relevant experience.
• 5+ years of relevant full-time experience in software engineering.
• Strong Java or other high-level language skills.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving performance problems in complex software systems.
• Strong will to adhere to best practices in OO development and a need to leave well-structured code in your tracks.
• Experience mentoring team members and leading technical projects.
• Extensive knowledge of object-oriented programming and software architecture. 
• The urge to write automated tests.
• Knowledge of relational databases and other approaches to data management.
• Knowledge of concurrency and scalability patterns.
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

WHAT CAN MAKE YOU STAND OUT

• Strong interest and experience in data-intensive application development
• Experience in fast-growing tech companies and scaleups
• Experience in A/B testing and other experimentation methodologies
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis / machine learning algorithms
• Proficiency in software architectures and performance optimization techniques 
• Past work experience in the field of data engineering or streaming analytics
