As a member of the Global Total Rewards team, you will be a Benefits subject matter expert in EMEA. You will ensure the success of our benefits programs and competitiveness of our benefits packages across the region. During the first year you will provide support in all of our EMEA countries whilst covering for a maternity leave. In the second year, you will become the focal point of contact for Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal, Bulgaria, UAE and Israel. You will also be leading benefits optimisation projects in the region and taking ownership of business as usual activities for your focal countries. Your day to day responsibilities will involve data analysis and research, putting together an action plan and executing, working with the vendors and local brokers, partnering with the bigger team and strengthening MongoDB’s employer brand. The position requires fluency in both Spanish and French, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities and embrace change in a fast growing environment.
We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Barcelona,Spain for our hybrid working model.
One to two days a week in the office and three to four days a week remote.
Responsibilities- Provide subject matter support to the Global People Team and be the main point of contact for benefit matters. Initially focusing on all EMEA countries with a view of becoming the main point of contact for Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal, Bulgaria, UAE and Israel
- Administer renewals of benefits programs, vendors, and policies including but not limited to Health, Life, Disability, Wellness, Pension, Sick and Vacation time
- Be an escalation point for the questions around EMEA benefits
- Analyze existing benefits policies and prevailing practices among similar organizations to recommend and establish competitive perks and benefits programs
- Manage ongoing education of employees on the benefits available to them
- Build materials to highlight MongoDB benefits and culture, to attract top talent in the industry and strengthen MongoDB’s Employer Brand
- Ensures compliance with all applicable mandatory and statutory regulations for all benefit programs and policies which include but not limited to: local and country specific laws
- Keep abreast of changes to rules and regulations and briefs the business of potential impact
- Establish relationships with vendors, brokers, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure that benefit plans are compliant, competitive and cost-effective
- Liaise with the Procurement Team to ensure vendor relationships and agreements are in line with company policy
- Manage vendor performance in relation to established customer service measures and ensuring vendor performance is aligned with company expectations
- Partner with Shared Services, Employee Experience, HRIS, Payroll, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely data sharing for renewals and day-to-day benefits administration
- Perform complex duties relating to the maintenance of eligibility, enrolment, billing, invoice creating/processing and tracking expenses to budget
- Coordinate Benefits Communications, programs, and wellness events
- Manage benefits optimisation projects to ensure our benefits processes remain scalable
- All other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
In 1 month you will get familiar with the internal MongoDB processes and programs, get to know your colleagues and vendors, based across the Globe, get familiar with existing benefits offerings and identify potential areas for improvements on a country level.
In 3 months you will be researching best market practices, collecting feedback “from the ground” and coming up with the solutions and action plan independently. You will be able to set challenging goals for yourself, which will be aligned with the Global Benefits Philosophy and business needs. You will be heavily involved in the projects Global People Team runs and will be able to learn from your colleagues.
In 6 months you will be a go-to person for any benefits escalations and tricky requests in EMEA, with a particular emphasis on your focal countries. You will be managing benefits communication in the region, completing renewals, leading benefits optimisation projects, and tracking your progress against the goals set. You will already have quick wins on the benefits front in at least 3 countries.
In 1 year you will be a benefits guru for the team and for employees, and will be able to come up with a Benefits Program for the next FY for your focal countries. You will look back to a year ago, and you’ll feel proud of your achievements.
Experience, skills and qualifications- BS or BA or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
- Fluent in Spanish and French
- 5+ years of relevant international benefits experience
- Strong program and vendor management experience and project management experience
- A passion for customer-first mindset and complex problem-solving
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence others
- Ability to develop and convey meaningful and relevant benefits communications
- Strong ability to prioritize and exceptional attention to detail
- Extensive knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements
- Must have experience in a global fast-paced, high growth environment
- Experience working across disciplines in HR
