Where you’ll work:
Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person.
You’ll be assigned to the closest one of our three hub offices, Bristol, Glasgow, or London; unless your role requires field-based work. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop, is designed to inspire people, help them connect and bring big ideas to life.

Senior Business Analysts in an Agile environment serve as a strategic leader and expert facilitator, driving the successful delivery of complex product initiatives. This role is pivotal in translating strategic vision into actionable user stories, ensuring alignment across multiple agile teams and stakeholders. By leveraging deep expertise in agile methodologies and business analysis, the Senior Business Analyst optimizes product development processes, mentors team members, and drives continuous improvement, ultimately delivering high-value solutions that exceed customer expectations and contribute significantly to organizational success.
Your key outcomes will be:
- Strategic Product Vision Realisation: Articulate and translate intricate, high-level strategic objectives into detailed, actionable product roadmaps and meticulously refined backlogs, guaranteeing unwavering alignment across multiple agile teams and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Optimised Agile Development Processes: Implement and refine agile processes, leading to increased sprint velocity, reduced impediments, and improved overall team outcomes.
- Enhanced Stakeholder Alignment and Satisfaction: Facilitate clear and consistent communication across diverse stakeholder groups, resulting in increased alignment on product vision and significantly improved stakeholder satisfaction.
- Mentored and Developed Agile Teams: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to associate analysts and agile team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
- Data-Driven Strategic Product Decisions: Leverage advanced data analysis and reporting to provide strategic insights, enabling data-driven product decisions and maximizing ROI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape Product Strategy: Develop and manage comprehensive product roadmaps and backlogs, aligning strategic objectives with user stories to ensure a cohesive product vision and effective execution at OVO.
- Champion Agile Excellence: Lead the implementation and refinement of Agile methodologies within OVO, driving process improvements to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead Stakeholder Alignment: Expertly facilitate complex meetings and workshops, ensuring clear communication, effective conflict resolution, and strong alignment across diverse stakeholder groups at OVO.
- Mentor and Develop Talent: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to fellow analysts and agile team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within OVO.
- Drive Decisions with Data: Conduct in-depth data analysis to produce strategic reports with actionable insights, informing OVO’s product decisions and maximising return on investment.
- Ensure Cohesive Product Delivery: Coordinate and collaborate effectively with multiple agile teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and alignment across all OVO product initiatives.
- Embed Customer Insights: Lead user research initiatives, translating findings into actionable insights that shape OVO's product strategy and backlog prioritisation.
- Manage Product Risks Proactively: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks by developing and implementing effective strategies to ensure successful product delivery at OVO.
- Lead and Grow OVO's Community of Practice: Actively contribute to and lead within your Community of Practice by sharing expertise, facilitating knowledge exchange, creating content, and driving successful outcomes to advance the craft at OVO.
You’ll be a successful Senior Business Analyst at OVO if you have…
- Proven Agile Leadership & Strategic Delivery: Substantial experience leading complex Agile projects and a proven track record of delivering strategic product initiatives, all underpinned by your expert knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Advanced Roadmap, Backlog & Tool Proficiency: Advanced skills in developing and managing impactful product roadmaps and backlogs, effectively utilising tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Aha! to translate OVO’s strategic vision into actionable plans.
- Exceptional Communication & Collaborative Influence: Outstanding communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, build consensus, and align teams towards OVO's shared goals.
- Strategic, Data-Informed Problem-Solving: A strong strategic mindset coupled with robust business acumen, leveraging advanced data analysis and reporting skills to dissect complex problems, generate insights, and inform OVO’s product strategy.

We’ll pay you between £46,000 and £66,000, depending on your specific skills and experience.
We keep our pay ranges broad on purpose to give us, and you, flexibility to match your experience to our zero carbon mission.
You’ll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.
