Senior Category Manager

Chewy is seeking a Senior Category Manager, Virtual Healthcare Services to make pet healthcare more affordable and accessible to all US households. You will use strong analytics for problem-solving skills, and meticulous, analytical thinking to deliver simple solutions that elevate both customer and business outcomes. Work cross functionally with internal colleagues, leaders and key Chewy partners and complete business strategies with a focus on accelerating results and adapting based on takeaways.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to wear multiple hats. You will have innovation and a high level of flexibility and dedication that drives you. Effectively prioritize and multi-task is a must, together with excellent project management skills and laser sharp organization. Additionally, you must demonstrate skills to investigate root cause problems, develop solutions, implement actions, and report on results. Keys to success in this role include strong ownership values, a drive for innovation, and accelerate time to market.
What you'll do:
- See opportunities within the category to optimize and enhance performance by conducting ongoing analysis of business performance across a range of metrics and customer cohorts
- Use insights gained through analysis to recommend improvements to product, promotional, marketing, or operational approaches to increase profitability while maintaining an extraordinary customer experience.
- Implement and lead processes to provide regular business updates and ad hoc deep dives on performance to Team Members, partners, and executives.
- Lead market sizing, customer segmentation, industry trends, driven positioning, and competitive analysis efforts within the Virtual Healthcare team.
- Using a deep understanding of P&L drivers and trade-offs, partner with Workforce Management and Marketing to develop and adjust demand and supply forecasts to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets.
- Work closely with other Chewy business units to see opportunities to demonstrate existing or develop new virtual care offerings to meet category and company goals.
- Drive promotional strategy for Virtual Healthcare offerings, including definition, execution, analysis, and ongoing iteration. Track program/promotional efficiency and recommend changes and improvements.
- Work cross-functionally with finance, marketing, workforce management, product management, customer insights, and customer service to ensure collaboration as well as comprehensive planning and execution.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of applicable professional or military experience, ideally in ecommerce, merchandising, retail, FMCG, or similar organizations.
- proven examples with business analysis and P&L management; 4+ years.
- Proven track record of launching and rapidly scaling early-stage business ventures.
- Strong history of positive relationships and influencing partners across organizations by deeply understanding their business and business needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including experience communicating with and influencing leaders 2+ levels above
- Highly analytical and data driven approach, convert data and trends into insights and actionable business recommendations, using data visualization and narratives to build a compelling message
- Set strategy and driving alignment across cross-functional teams, balancing high quality execution.
- Strong organization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities and results, using high judgment to dynamically prioritize based on business performance
- Highly proficient with Excel; knowledge of Tableau and SQL
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent experience background preferred
- Veterinary, Healthcare, Services, Management Consulting, or e-commerce experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
Our salary range for a Sr Category Manager position is $129,500.00 - $205,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be motivated by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s proven experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k, and a new hire and annual equity grant.
