Senior Consumer Insights Manager
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is in search of a Senior Consumer Insights Manager to join our growing Consumer Insights team at our Bellevue, WA, Boston, MA, Plantation, FL or Minneapolis, MN offices This person will play a role in further strengthening Chewy's customer-centric business model by partnering with Chewy Marketing and Insights Leadership to elevate the level of consumer insights applied to the strategy and execution of major company initiatives. The individual in this role will drive a core set of ongoing research programs to infuse consumer insights into marketing strategy development and the creation of new breakthrough consumer experiences and brand engagement. This position will also collaborate closely with both analytics and customer-facing teams, with the goal of cultivating an integrated 360-view of current Chewy customers and the total universe of pet parents in the U.S. so that Chewy can focus its resources efficiently and impactfully to drive profitable growth.
This person will represent the Consumer Insights team as the voice and the conscience of the consumer within the organization. They need to have the ability to field research studies effectively as well as the credibility and persuasiveness to help the Chewy teams internalize and act on the consumer insights generated by the research.
What You'll Do:
- Independently manage and conduct a variety of research projects that will contribute to the foundational understanding of consumer dynamics for a given category and the Chewy brand.
- Manage the Chewy DYI insights platform to execute research initiatives in a time and cost-effective manner to meet business objectives.
- Utilize multiple tools to closely monitor consumer trends and competitive activity both within and outside the category and synthesize that information into practical insights that can guide marketing and product development strategies on an ongoing basis.
- Break down complex data sets across multiple studies to develop a compelling story that drives at actionable recommendations.
- Develop Monthly Flash reports with key insights from research completed to share with the broader organization.
- Partner with AD, Consumer Insights to drive a culture of consumer curiosity, insight generation and analytical thinking.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, statistics, research, or related field.
- Proven track record managing quantitative and qualitative market research programs for major consumer brands, preferably including retailer experience.
- Effective project manager that can orchestrate complex research projects and deliver compelling results on time and on budget.
- A balance of left- and right-brain thinking that can go deep on the data and provide a nuanced human perspective drawn from empathy and active listening.
- An experienced and engaging presenter who can both inform and inspire, bringing data to life with compelling human insights and context.
- Experience with tracking programs (brand equity, NPS, etc.)
- Strategic thinking and writing skills.
- Expertise at managing multiple vendors including development of RFPs
- Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven ability to work cross functionally within a dynamic, fast-moving organization.
- 8+ or more experience in similar roles.
- Highly motivated, self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment and handle a level of ambiguity with aplomb.
Bonus:
- Experience working at a market research supplier and client side.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Our salary range for a Senior Consumer Insights Manager position is $129,500.00 - $207,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

- Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
