Senior Copy Manager
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Senior Copywriter Manager to join our Brand Creative team in Seattle, WA! This role is ideal for a conceptual thinker and skilled storyteller with a strong background in video and scriptwriting. You’ll help own the creative development of fully integrated campaigns, with a particular focus on messaging for motion content—from idea to execution.
You'll partner closely with art directors, designers, and marketers to build emotionally resonant brand work across digital, social, and in-store channels. We are looking for someone hands-on and strategic: you’ll help craft the voice of our brand, pitch creative concepts, write scripts and manifestos, and mentor junior writers along the way!
What You’ll Do:
- Lead concept development for brand campaigns across video, digital, social, and retail channels, delivering multi-channel ideas that are grounded in audience insight
- Write high-impact scripts for short- and long-form video—including brand films, social spots, paid media, and in-store content
- Develop other copy formats, including headlines, taglines, manifestos, banners, landing pages, and email—always ensuring narrative cohesion and tonal consistency
- Collaborate with Art Directors, Producers, and partners throughout the creative process, from concepting and scripting through production
- Attend and contribute to campaign kickoffs, voiceover sessions, edits, and post-production reviews, ensuring the script and message carry through to the final cut
- Adjust messaging based on audience insight, media placement, and campaign goals— moving comfortably between upper and lower funnel work
- Build and maintain tone-of-voice documentation and help define how our brand speaks across formats and touchpoints
- Mentor junior copywriters and give to a collaborative, curious, and high-performing creative culture
- You lead projects from start to finish, working with cross-functional partners to ensure high-quality execution
- You review and guide creative across formats, ensuring voice, tone, and story carry through across video and beyond
- You lead by example—bringing creative rigor, craft, and a collaborative spirit to every stage of the process
What You’ll Need:
- A strong portfolio with examples of video work and scripts that demonstrate storytelling, emotional range, and strategic clarity
- 7–10 years of copywriting experience, with a focus on scriptwriting, brand campaigns, and video-first creative
- Experience developing messaging for integrated campaigns, with a proven ability to adapt voice across platforms and audience segments
- Deep understanding of how to build and deliver ideas for motion—from concept and treatment writing through final script and shoot prep
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to present work clearly and thoughtfully to senior partners
- Familiarity with production workflows and an ability to support in shoots, VO sessions, and edits
- Agency or in-house creative team background preferred
- BA from a four-year university; portfolio school is a plus
- Position may require occasional travel

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
