At Tripadvisor, we want you to bring your unique identities, abilities, and experiences, so we can collectively revolutionize travel and together find the good out there.

We’re seeking a talented copy manager, seasoned editor, and strategic marketing partner to lead our growing copy team.

This role will act both as our most senior copywriter—writing across our B2B and B2C divisions, and surfaces including email, web, social, app, ads, OOH, and beyond—and as a manager to a team of fantastic writers. Additionally, they will be a steward for our brand voice: maintaining style guides and partnering across departments as a copy resource. This position sits on the Creative team, within the greater Marketing organization, and collaborates closely with our cross-channel leads in CRM, marketing strategy, brand, social, and more.  You’ll be a great fit for this role if you’re an empathetic people manager, can give clear notes and direction, and know how to support from the sidelines and when to step in.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage a team of copywriters and freelancers—delegating tasks and projects, managing time, and mentoring junior writers

  • Craft performance-driven messaging that solves business challenges and drives results; write and shape best-in-class copy that consistently reflects our brand voice and tone

  • Edit and proofread copy with exceptional attention to detail; give notes and feedback to shepherd projects from first draft to final stages

  • Collaborate with marketing and product leads to create messaging hierarchies around new product launches and initiatives

  • Act as a champion for our brand voice: Maintaining and updating our style guides, working cross-functionally as an in-house expert, conducting trainings and giving feedback as needed

  • Push our storytelling forward: Bringing new creative ideas to the table and having the know-how to support, shape, and elevate the work of others

  • Optimize copy where appropriate using testing, data, and user feedback to drive results, and to iterate and expand on our brand voice

Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years copy experience at an agency or in-house setting; at least 2 years as a people manager

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills; able to pick up a brand voice quickly; familiarity with AP style

  • Experience working cross-functionally, partnering with CRM, social, content, and product teams

  • Experience producing work for integrated marketing campaigns and/or working on creative from product concept to launch

  • Experience analyzing and applying learnings gleaned from data and insights

  • Able to give clear, actionable edits on everything from social copy to longer whitepapers; able to explain rationale and feedback in a clear, approachable way

  • A strong understanding of marketing and content channels and ability to adapt writing to fit the needs of the audience

  • Great taste, instincts, and knowledge of industry trends

  • Access to a diverse network of freelancers and a strong ability to assign, edit, and coach as needed to create great work

  • A portfolio that showcases your writing style and strong strategic and conceptual campaign thinking applied across a range of deliverables
