Role: Senior Copywriter (FTC - 6 months)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom (Onsite at client office 1x per week)

 

ROLE MISSION

Working in partnership with our client, the Senior Copywriter will be a creative thinker with strong conceptual and direct writing skills. You will concept, write and edit copy for a variety of projects ​​across a range of performance marketing and creative campaigns, including brochures, website content, videos, CRM, Social, and Display Ads. 

You will have a strong grasp of the ways people consume content across devices and in turn use that to develop impactful creative, wherever its destination may be. 

Excellent communication and relationship building skills are essential for this position, the right candidate will be extremely passionate and highly motivated to fulfil briefs to the best of their ability. You will have strong presentation skills, both verbal and with the creation of PPT presentations, whether internally with creatives or with clients.

  • Being able to offer creative solutions to client briefs is second nature to you. You’re keen to work closely with the client and develop a good understanding of the complexities around working together. A desire to prove yourself in a demanding fast paced environment while remaining open minded and adaptable while we build a trusted partnership with the clients, as well as meticulous attention to detail, good communication and organisational skills. You see the benefit in working onsite as an extension to the client’s team.
  • You are an advocate for promoting positive sustainable behaviours and able to put a sustainability lens on the strategic and creative process.
  • You will be open and willing to attend Change the Brief training and soak up recommended research and reading about sustainability issues.

ABOUT THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING

You’ll be working closely with the creative team, including other copywriters, editors and the Director of global marketing, content strategy and development. You’ll be able to work together to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop copy, but also have the ability to lead on conceptual copy independently. 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

  • Work on projects from start to finish, working collaboratively across teams and independently on ideation, creation and implementation.  
  • Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creative concepts through execution.  
  • When necessary, challenge and clarify the brief with Account team and clients, drawing out the key points.  
  • Capture the client's tone of voice throughout all copy and proactively make recommendations for the direction of client projects  
  • Produce creative copy with a clear rationale to accompany the work.  
  • Collaborate with the creative team to drive unique and well-crafted copy that meet clients’ needs as well as our own. This will include headlines and body copy across media.  
  • Creating copy from scratch or amending existing copy for website, CRM, Social, blogs and different event and campaign collateral.  
  • Keeping up to date with current media trends.  
  • Present at client meetings and internal creative reviews.  

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL 

  • An impressive conceptual outlook and ability to produce original ideas.  
  • At least 5 years full-time agency experience in a creative role.  
  • Have strong experience working and presenting to clients.  
  • Have experience creating master copy in US English as well as British English.  
  • Be able to think strategically and ideate from a strategic brief.  
  • Portfolio expressing strong examples of both conceptual and direct copywriting, editorial experience would be a bonus.  
  • A good record in creating immaculate copy that stands out from the crowd.  
  • A persuasive and confident approach to creativity.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and timescales.
  • Familiarity with creative processes and techniques.
  • Ability to adhere to internal processes, including following brand guidelines.
