Role: Senior Copywriter

About the role:
OLIVER is looking for a Senior Copywriter to provide temporary maternity leave coverage on our London-based global hospitality account marketing to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. As a Copywriter, your primary responsibility will be to write for digital channels, with a focus on paid social media placements. There will be opportunities to jump in on other projects, ranging from web copy to DOOH. We’re looking for a writer who can craft pithy copy with a conversational tone, flexing to resonate with audiences in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. You should have an eye for social media trends and an understanding of best practices on platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.This role is remote with team members located the UK, Ireland, and United States. Your line manager will be based in New York.
What you will be doing:
Your typical day as Senior Copywriter:
- Translate the needs of the client into compelling, on-brand messaging with a clear call-to-action.
- Adapt existing global campaign messaging for lower funnel marketing and originate region-specific messaging concepts as needed.
- Write social captions, headlines, and digital banner copy, along with landing pages and other assets.
- Write storyboards for short-form video content to be featured on social channels and YouTube.
- Edit supplied copy to ensure that it is on-brand and within spec.
- Collaborate with designers to create copy that aligns with imagery and other creative elements.
- Work closely with account managers to meet the goals of the brief.
- Action on internal and client feedback, often with tight turnarounds.
- Stay up to date on the current trends and consumer mindset within the hospitality and travel space.
- You will be open and willing to attend sustainability training relevant to your role and soak up recommended research and reading about sustainability issues
What you need to be great in this role:
- 5+ years copywriting experience at an agency or brand in-house group.
- A portfolio showcasing short and long form content across digital channels. Social media, digital display, and video work is preferred. Samples can also include website, email, and OOH.
- An understanding of audiences on social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
- The ability to interpret and maintain a brand TOV while also taking translations for various markets into consideration.
- Strong research skills and attention to detail, particularly with respect to brand standards, grammar, and spelling.
- A self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative nature. Must enjoy working both independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in the hospitality and travel space is key!
