The Difference You Will Make:

Airbnb is seeking a highly qualified, experienced litigator for our risk and regulatory group. The Senior Counsel, Litigation, will report to Airbnb’s Associate General Counsel, Global Risk and Regulatory. This role will include litigation, investigations, and counseling on important, strategic matters. A Typical Day:

  • Be an active, strategic leader handling a diverse range of complex litigation and pre-litigation matters in numerous jurisdictions. 
  • Proactively address and resolve potential disputes while providing risk mitigation advice to business clients and supporting business objectives. 
  • Collaborate with compliance personnel, public policy experts, and other attorneys inside and outside Airbnb to help solve complex problems. 
  • Review and analyze legal risks for Airbnb, including on development of products and services. 
  • Devise processes and procedures to help support a rapidly growing, global business.

Your Expertise:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials. 
  • Licensed attorney with 8+ years of significant litigation experience. 
  • Commercial tort, regulatory, tax controversy, class action dispute, and trial experience preferred.
  • Experience preparing senior corporate leaders for deposition and trial preferred.
  • Experience at or representing technology companies strongly preferred.
  • Licensed attorney in good standing of the bar of at least one U.S. state or territory; California bar admission preferred.
  • San Francisco Bay Area preferred.
  • Demonstrated record of successfully managing significant aspects of complex legal or regulatory matters.
  • Highly motivated, efficient, and organized.
  • Able to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment, both collaborating as part of a team and working independently.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to advocate for a position while maintaining an open-minded approach.
  • Interest in expanding the scope of your practice, attention to details, and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Passion for travel and home sharing and deep appreciation for the Airbnb community.
  • Good sense of humor, disdain for drama, and desire to get things done.
  • Willingness to travel up to several times per quarter depending on case needs.

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.  

Pay Range$205,000—$249,000 USD
