The role

HelloFresh is on a mission to change the way people eat, forever. Since our 2011 founding in Europe’s vibrant tech hub, Berlin, we’ve become the world's leading meal kit provider, delivering to households worldwide in multiple countries.

Our diverse employees are the heart and soul of our diverse, fast-paced and dynamic environment where innovation and smart, fast action is encouraged.

We’re passionate about bringing dinner inspiration to everyday Australians and Kiwis. In addition to our meal kit delivery brands HelloFresh and EveryPlate, the group also includes prepared meal delivery services with YouFoodz and our national National Refrigerated Courier Service, Be Cool.

The Senior Culinary Operations Manager is an experienced operational and project leader who works closely on operational and project tasks with our Product Strategy, Product Excellence, Editorial, Procurement and Menu Planning teams to assess, support, develop and plan the concepts that will underpin the next stages of our growth. You have a passion for driving product improvement using product and customer insights and a proven experience in using data to craft our Culinary Operations strategy and  roadmap.

Delivering on an end-to-end Culinary development and validation process, the role is responsible for the creation of new and improvement of existing recipes for the HelloFresh and/or EveryPlate database that adhere to recipe score, %1s & core AIP targets,  internal tasting guidelines, and budgetary and seasonality constraints.

You are resourceful and independent, curious about consumer behavior and understand the big picture. Most importantly you thrive in a fast-moving, data-led decision-making environment and are passionate about the opportunity to play a leading role in changing the way Aussies eat.

What you’ll do
  • Contribute to the formulation and operationalisation of the annual strategy and roadmap for Culinary to improve the quality and market fit of our product, working closely with other Culinary managers to shape high quality initiatives that can contribute to the overarching business goals.

  • Steer and undertake strategic Culinary projects and lead the team in achieving key milestones, aligned with the broader objectives, key results and product improvement.
  • Track culinary performance against OKRs and support with deep-dive analyses as needed. Becoming in-house expert on KPIs and supporting the rest of the team with agile deep-dives, to understand any deviations from targets and propose solutions to address them.
  • Lead a team to manage the end-to-end development and validation process while working closely with our Culinary Innovation Lead in the NPD stage gate process to ensure timely product launches.
  • Lead the development and validation team to ensure they are supported and have the ability to grow in their personal and professional development through regular 1:1s, team meetings, retrospective sessions and personal development plans.
  • Oversee test kitchen operations, servicing teams across 3 markets, including stock rotation, food safety, expense management, and event coordination.
