Senior Data Analyst - CIC

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst who has a passion for driving decisions and insights through data.  You will be successful if you are detail-oriented, analytical, like solving big problems, connecting dots, understanding business challenges and determining options to solve using data, and can effectively communicate with team members and business partners. In this role, you will be key in creating the foundation for data-based decision-making across Okta's functional business teams and will work with internal customers to identify ways to effectively leverage data using cutting edge cloud and big data technologies to drive business insights.

 

Responsibilities

  • Be the subject matter expert on the Customer Identity Cloud side of the business, including data models, business metrics, customer value, and definitions
  • Drive strategy for how we measures product usage across the Workforce Identity and Customer Identity clouds
  • Define semantic layer requirements to enable advanced product analytics
  • Lead initiatives that drive growth and retention including propensity to buy, cross sell opportunities, risk signals, and other predictive analysis
  • Engage with stakeholders and business teams to understand priorities and identify opportunities to advance their analytics and insights solutions
  • Document in-depth business requirements 
  • Identify trends and key drivers of metrics to unveil insights
  • Provide support to stakeholders, investigate data issues, and create ad hoc reports and/or dashboards
  • Answer complex business questions with data through investigation and data forensics 
  • Develop report and dashboard prototypes
  • Work with the team to define, implement, and test new data sources and transformations 
  • Provide input to Data/Analytics Engineering on requirements and enhancements to existing data pipelines, data sets, and data platforms
  • Conduct QA activities for new development and enhancements 
  • Develop expertise in data modeling, transformation, and normalization
  • Develop expertise in visualization and storytelling with data best practices
  • Support new tool and technology assessments to improve stakeholder adoption
  • Proactively identify process improvements, standardize processes, and help ensure new processes become institutionalized

 

Requirements

  • BS in CS, MIS, related technical degree 
  • 5+ years experience as a Data Analyst/Data Engineer/BI Developer
  • Advanced SQL experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with building reports and visualizations to represent data intuitively in Tableau or similar data visualization tools
  • Advanced analytics, data science, AI/ML experience and techniques are a plus
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate with technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience with ETL processes, software development, and lifecycle awareness, using Python, Java, and Snowflake
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$104,000—$156,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $117,000—$175,000 USD
