In the Global Bank Team, we create a business account for SumUp’s customers (our merchants) across the globe that offers financial services that are accessible to all and are offered in a fair, transparent, and honest way. We want to do banking differently from how it has been done until now.

Join our global team as a Senior Data Analyst and shape the future of our banking products, you'll not only apply your expertise to the challenges of a complex and evolving tribe but also actively contribute to the broader data analytics team.

What you’ll do

  • Document and create data marts and key metrics so others can easily work with the data
  • Enhance product research with internal data insights to advise the global product strategy. Support product improvement by helping teams with data-driven insights, and qualitative analysis, and enable experiments with proper tracking
  • Analyze business requirements in various functional areas and translate them into data models and actionable dashboards
  • Embrace a customer-centric mindset, recognizing and prioritizing the needs of clients and end-users in all decision-making processes
  • Analyze data sets to spot trends and patterns that can be translated into actionable insights and conduct ad hoc analyzes to address pressing questions around product, operations, and business performance
  • Collaborate with teams to define clear KPIs and data models to help measure the effectiveness of our product strategies in achieving overall business goals. To deliver product performance insights you will develop user-friendly dashboards

Previous experience:

  • Min 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst in a fast-growing company or banking sector
  • Experience in data warehouse principles (ideally Snowflake), architectures, and technologies (DBT experience is desirable)
  • Advanced experience writing, optimizing, and validating SQL queries
  • Understanding version control concepts and Git operations
  • Ability to digest information, and data and deliver recommendations
  • Ability to derive conclusions with analytical evidence using descriptive statistics, basic inferential statistics, and data visualizations - ideally with Tableau
  • Proven track record of leading large and complex projects, demonstrating adaptability and concise communication skills
  • Having a foundational understanding of basic software development concepts will support you in your collaboration and understanding of the Engineering and Product team’s needs. 

Nice to have:

  • Defining and running A/B tests and knowing when results are statistically significant
  • Experience tracking data on Mobile & Web Products
  • Previous exposure to dynamics of startups or scale-up organizations
  • Familiarity with Tracking tools (Segment, GA, Mixpanel, Amplitude)
  • Experience with Python
