Senior Data Engineer - Data Governance - Paris (x/f/m)
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Governance team. Data Governance at Doctolib ensures company-wide data is easily accessible, compliant, and trustworthy, while enabling advanced analytics and AI through robust governance foundations.

This Data Engineer role will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing the implementation of governance standards along Doctolib’s data value chain. He/She will report to the Head of Data Governance. Together with its functional teammate, the Data Engineer will be the link between several interlocutors notably Data Engineers from other data teams, Data Product Managers, Feature Teams (main data producers), architects and legal officers.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with other engineers all over Doctolib’s data value chain to keep translating data governance standards into actionable and automated processes:
- Design and implement governance standards for our SaaS data sources
- Ensure that key metadata for governance (ownership, sensitivity, documentation, etc.) remain in our upcoming Unified Healthcare Data Platform (UHDP)
- Contribute to the implementation of semantic structure:
- Design and participate in the implementation of taxonomies and ontologies tailored to the medical context.
- Ensure the standardization and interoperability of metadata and data models.
- Technically lead our data catalog ‘Coalesce Catalog’ lifecycle (formerly known as CastorDoc), partnering with Coalesce and your functional counterpart within the team:
- Extend Catalog coverage by integrating new data sources, with a particular focus on the move from a monolith to a to a modular architecture.
- Support data lineage implementation for SaaS sources
- Design and implement ingestion monitoring capabilities to make sure that Catalog remains Doctolib’s single source of truth for data discovery
- Take a hands-on role managing Data Governance monitoring capabilities on Metabase by:
- Building and maintaining actionable dashboards
- Directly owning the data pipelines that power them.

You could be our next team mate if you:
- Have at least 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, ideally with experience in Data Architecture processes so as to work with Architects in Tech & Product domain.
- Proven experience on cloud providers - ideally GCP and Cloud AWS
- Eager to be hands on with our stack mastering SQL, Python, Terraform, Kubernetes, Github, dbt, Airflow, Metabase, BigQuery
- Are familiar with the healthcare industry
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, in both French and English
Now, it would be fantastic if you:
- Are familiar with Ruby on Rails or JavaScript
- Have good knowledge of data protection regulations (GDPR, healthcare data) and practices, notably pseudonymization / anonymization in practice
- Have experience or at least knowledge of data mesh in practice or federated data platforms
- Already worked in a fast-growing and rapidly changing environment
