Senior Data Engineer

Senior Data EngineerWhat’s the role?We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer whose primary focus is data collection and analytics implementation, rather than traditional data engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that digital experiences are measured accurately, designing and implementing tagging strategies, validating data quality, and supporting analytics teams with reliable tracking foundations. You will collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders, helping translate measurement needs into clear technical solutions.
This role plays a key part in enabling accurate insights and decision-making, while complementing (not replacing) traditional data engineers who focus on databases, SQL, and large-scale pipelines.
What will you do?
- Implement and maintain Google Analytics 4 (GA4) tracking.
- Configure and manage Google Tag Manager (GTM).
- Partner with developers to implement, QA, and validate tracking code.
- Ensure accurate and consistent data collection across platforms.
- Troubleshoot tracking, tagging, and analytics issues.
- Explain analytics concepts, results, and decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in client-facing discussions and cross-functional collaboration.
What do we expect from you?
Technical (Must-Have)
- Hands-on, production experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
- Strong experience configuring and QA-ing Google Tag Manager (GTM).
- Advanced English (C1 level)
- Experience working directly with developers and business stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- MarTech tagging experience (e.g., Google Ads pixels, Facebook pixels).
- Exposure to broader analytics or marketing platforms.
- Basic familiarity with data engineering concepts (BigQuery / SQL), though not required.
- Experience with tools like Amplitude helpful, but does not replace GA4 + GTM.
