At Lyft, our mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. To do this, we start with our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization.

Our transport network serves the needs of millions of people every day who want to get from one place to another using Lyft cars, bikes and scooters, with public transportation, or on foot in the most efficient way. To serve these needs, we need to suggest the fastest, most affordable and safest routes. We achieve this by processing millions of rides, taking into account the latest traffic information and analyzing the preferences of drivers.

To strengthen our efforts, we are hiring a Senior Data Scientist who will collaborate with engineering and product to think critically about the current routing experience and implement product enhancements to improve our customer experience.

In this role, you have access to data from millions of route requests per day, as well as actual driving patterns. • Leverage data and analytic frameworks to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, marketers, designers, and operators to translate data insights into decisions and experiments.
  • Develop analytical frameworks and models to monitor business and product performance.
  • Establish metrics that measure the health of our products, the business and the customer experience.
  • Manage, influence, negotiate, mentor and inspire others in a fast-moving environment
  • Build tools and dashboards to provide visibility to other teams.
Experience:
  • Degree in statistics, economics, applied math, operations research or engineering (advanced degrees preferred), or relevant work experience
  • 4+ years of industry experience in a data science, analytics, or management consulting role.
  • Extensive experience in SQL and Python
  • Hands-on experience with big data processing / distributed data pipelines and tools such as Apache Airflow and Spark
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience in navigation systems / maps
  • Proven ability that you can work well in an international environment with a diverse group of engineers in different locations (Munich, Minsk, Kyiv, Seattle, San Francisco, New York)
Benefits:
  • Pension scheme with 4% employer contribution
  • Risk and Accidental Death & Dismemberment benefits
