We're looking for a Senior Data Scientist excited to help build the bank of the future. You'll have the opportunity to super charge our user experience in 2024 and help us to build a bank that customers truly love.

What you’ll be working on 

You will work together with a cross functional team (PM, UX/design, Engineering and of course other Data Scientists, Analysts and Analytics Engineers) to make Monzo the place where customers move, send and receive money in a way that feels magical!  Our ambition is to be the customer’s `top of wallet` card to pay in person, online, and while travelling.  We think Payments should be engaging, trustworthy, and remarkably simple.

Your day-to-day   
  • Applying your expertise in analytics, data science, and data storytelling  to build a comprehensive understanding of our customers, identifying their needs and behaviours to improve product offerings and customer experience.
  • Utilise existing data to support and inform customer research, enhancing insights and guiding strategic decisions.
  • Guide and enable Payments teams to measure things that matter; ensure our business metrics are appropriate and that our event tracking is robust enough to power insights into customer behaviours.
  • Initiate or help run A/B experiments to keep improving everything we do
  • Liaise with engineers to keep making sure we collect the right data to produce relevant business insights

  • You have experience in conducting large-scale A/B experiments, ideally those focused on driving user engagement in mobile applications or bring deep expertise of the payments domain.
  • You have excellent presentation and communication skills and get excited to turn data into stories accessible for stakeholders.
The Interview Process:

Our interview process involves three main stages: 

  • Chat with a recruiter
  • Initial Call with the Hiring Manager 
  • A take home task  
  • Final interviews including a case study and collaboration interview 
  • Our average process takes around 2-3 weeks but we will always work around your availability.
