What you'll be involved with

• Working with cutting-edge technology enabling our Cloud Journey. 
• The Database team is responsible for building and managing Database hosting capabilities using Infrastructure as Code for all our platform needs. Database capabilities span from on-prem servers to cloud servers and DBaaS. 
• Building our Database Infrastructure Platforms with our developers and providing guidance and tooling to handle distributed systems. 
• Continuously improving, tuning, and optimizing our Database platform capabilities based on business needs. Analysing, diagnosing, and solving issues of efficiency and performance. 
• Apply patches and updates and automate routine tasks through scripting. 

  We are seeking individuals who possess

• Proficiency in setting up and administering AWS database services, including SQL and NoSQL databases. 
• Strong expertise in managing PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases, including administration, optimization, HA and DR configurations. 
• Familiarity with cloud providers, with a preference for AWS, and knowledge of cloud provider services such as Aurora, DynamoDB, and RDS. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex technical issues and provide effective solutions. 
• Adaptability to changing technologies and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. 
• Support and implement the backup, recovery, and high availability strategies that are crucial for data protection. 

  Also meritorious skills

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform, with a solid understanding of Terraform modules and workflows. 
• Skill in version control to manage code changes effectively. 
• Familiarity with open-source monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana. 
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or similar. 
• Experience in using and managing Linux distributions.
