About the OpportunityElastic is seeking a creative leader to join the team that designs, builds, and leads our flagship website, Elastic.co. This role requires the ability to understand Elastic's product marketing strategy and the business challenges that our website can help solve, while also applying a UX perspective to these solutions. You will forge strong relationships with product marketers, engineers, content strategists, and designers to craft seamless end-to-end user journeys. We are looking for a natural leader who can motivate, inspire, and guide a team. The ideal candidate should have a strong design background, a passion for creating engaging user experiences, and a proven history of operating within an enterprise context.
What You Will Be Doing- Partner with Product Marketing to plan and craft end-to-end user journeys on Elastic.co.
- Be an active contributor in business and strategic reviews, partnering closely with Product Marketing to understand the needs of the business and how to address them through strong UX thinking.
- Represent the team and its work to senior leadership at Elastic.
- Partner with content strategists to build and optimize the templates and components they need to deliver the right content at the right time to the right visitor.
- Partner with developers and design technologists to build these templates and components into our system, allowing for use and optimization at scale.
- Lead UX Research around key business priorities and use qualitative and quant data to best support impactful user journeys.
- Lead and strengthen a team of designers to craft compelling experiences for Elastic's audiences.
- Build a successful, collaborative environment that encourages deep partnership with cross-functional teams and sets a high bar for design craft.
- Champion customer-centricity, accessibility, and inclusion, and good design choices across functions.
- 7+ years of design experience that demonstrates strategy, leadership, and collaboration on complex problems
- 5+ years of design leadership or team management experience
- A mastery of visual and user experience design
- Experience planning work and driving progress autonomously, both as an individual contributor and a manager of designers
- Experience leading cross-functional teams towards the successful delivery of high-quality design
- A strong portfolio that showcases the skills and experience above through public-facing websites, products, engaging microsites, design systems, or anything else you think is relevant
- Experience leading design in an enterprise or SaaS setting
- An understanding of modern HTML and CSS
- Experience in modern web development
