About this role : 

We are looking for a Senior Design System Specialist (f/m/x) to become a key member and help our Design Team to establish and maintain a cohesive and modern user-centric design systems across our entire product suite. 

• This will include shaping a unified visual language, creating scalable design components
• Ensuring consistency of user interfaces.
• Leverage your deep understanding of design principles, your knowledge of Apple's and Google's interface guidelines (for iOS and Android respectively) and your technical skills to conceive and manage the design tokens and components from concept to implementation, in close collaboration with Product Designers and Developers.
• This position is based in Berlin in a hybrid modality.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining the organisation's design systems, ensuring alignment with user needs and business objectives.
• Establishing consistent design systems across all product lines by collaborating closely with designers, developers, and product managers.
• Assuring scalability and accessibility of UI elements, typography, grids, and colour palettes (Design Tokens).
• Providing training and support to various teams for the implementation of the design system, through a variety of collaborative efforts including facilitating workshops.
• Ensuring consistency and quality across all products and platforms by reviewing the implementation of components.
• Creating and maintaining design system libraries that contain design patterns, usage guidelines, and rationales for designing systems.
• Advocating for user-centred and systematic design practices within the organisation, contributing to a strong design culture.
• Acting as the go-to expert for design systems within the organisation, providing guidance, recommendations, and solutions based on best practices and the teams’ needs.

Your Profile : 

• At least 4 years of experience in Product Design, including 2 specific to Design Systems. Experience with multiple platforms (Web, iOS, Android) is a plus.
• A deep technical understanding of Design Systems that bridges both Design and Development, including a comprehensive knowledge of Material 3 token structure and Human Interface Guidelines as well as familiarity with front-end frameworks like Vue.js.
• A demonstrated understanding of UX principles and standards, especially in regards to accessibility and usability.
• A strong attention to detail and a demonstrated excellence in visual design.
• A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders to efficiently implement and maintain design systems components.
• A proficiency in current design and prototyping tools (mainly Figma), with a continuous drive to explore and use newly added functionalities.
• Demonstrated ability to approach problems holistically, finding solutions that are systematic and considerate of technical constraints.
• Very good verbal and written skills in English.
