We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Digital Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a high level of creativity and innovation to our digital projects. This is an exciting hybrid role and  demands a unique blend of digital design expertise, including marketing deliverables and UI elements for digital products. We’re looking for someone who will spend 50% of their time aiding our UI team and 50% of their time in digital design with the marketing and web teams.  If you are passionate about creating compelling digital experiences we would love to hear from you. While working remotely or in a hybrid work arrangement, a blend of virtual (in accordance with Hootsuite’s distributed workforce strategy), and in Hootsuite’s Vancouver office, you will report to Manager, Design.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Design and deliver a range of digital assets, including website graphics, email campaigns, social media visuals, and other marketing materials that align with our brand identity and defined strategies
  • Develop and implement UI elements and prototypes for digital products, ensuring they meet high usability and aesthetic standards.
  • Inform, contribute to, and extend our product’s new Design System. This includes taking an existing design system and working to implement it across our product ecosystem via creating sample layouts, refining the styling and guidelines in partnership with our lead UI designer.
  • Develop, maintain, and extend a deep understanding of the Hootsuite product experience, business objectives, customers, and competition by conducting or participating in relevant user research, competitive analysis, and other design thinking activities. 
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team, product managers, and developers to ensure cohesive branding and user experiences across all digital platforms.
  • Partner with product/user research to ensure UI designs are informed by customer needs & data.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in digital design and incorporate new ideas and innovations into your work.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from concept to completion, ensuring they meet deadlines and budget constraints. This includes presenting work to peers, leadership, and all-hands venues 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Ample experience in digital design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your skills in both marketing deliverables and digital product design.
  • Expertise in design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch, Figma).
  • Experience in designing UI elements for digital products and familiarity with UX principles.
  • Identify opportunities for process and operational improvements and advocating for necessary changes
  • Ability to participate in and interpret insights from a wide range of appropriate design activities for complex problems such as: user research, workshops, strategy and vision development, concept design, detailed design, and prototyping. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience in a SAAS environment and/or digital agencies is highly desirable.
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details, and a passion for delivering outstanding digital experiences.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus, but not required.

Canada Pay Range For This Role$78,400—$109,800 CAD
