About the role

We’re looking for a Director of COO Programs to define and lead transformational projects that improve the effectiveness and value capture across Crunchyroll and support our mission to be the world’s destination of choice for anime. You will develop a deep understanding of operational challenges faced by teams and define appropriate solutions to address such challenges. You will support our COO in ensuring that team roles and responsibilities are clear for the COO organization and that team projects are on a trajectory to achieve our company and department objectives and key results (OKRs). You will help extend the reach of the COO by overseeing special projects supporting organizational efficiency and operating excellence end-to-end. You will partner with domain leaders on all aspects of COO programs, including: long-term department strategy, annual department budgeting, operational excellence, continuous improvement, capability building, enterprise technology, change management, executive presentations, and department OKRs. 

You will be a member of the Strategy & Planning Leadership team and report to the Head and SVP of Strategy & Planning, as part of Crunchyroll’s COO organization. 

The impact you will have: 

  • Understand Crunchyroll’s company strategy, how it translates to our strategic priorities and goals, and how to use those insights to support the COO in directing the department OKRs and priorities in a clear and consistent way 
  • Support the COO in facilitating the biannual objectives and key results (OKRs) process for COO organization to capture and track progress on department OKRs and support COO teams in cascading into team OKRs    
  • Identify and track progress on continuous improvement opportunities for organizational efficiency across processes, enterprise systems, and more; define operating KPIs and metrics for recurring tracking and reporting    
  • Develop and implement reports and dashboards on COO programs and initiatives to foster understanding, accountability, and coordination across the organization; communicate progress in a recurring cadence and format    
  • Organize, and on occasion lead, projects with a broad set of contributors, collecting input from relevant business and functional teams and ensuring alignment on goals, plans, and deliverables     
  • Draft communications and own content development for executive updates on relevant topics for Crunchyroll’s President and COO’s internal and external meetings, offsites, and other speaking engagements 

What we look for: 

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in a similar leadership role or as a Chief of Staff; management consulting experience and/or MBA preferred   
  • Business operations, organizational improvement, process optimization, enterprise systems, and/or program management skills with track record of achieving quantifiable results 
  • Understanding of media subscription models and DTC principles and methodologies working in dynamic media and entertainment organizations 
  • Excellent executive and cross-functional communication and relationship building skills with senior leadership teams  
  • Proficiency in growth and business strategy formulation, data-driven decision making, and business and organizational development

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
