Senior Director, Digital Marketing

The Senior Director of Digital Marketing will be a key driver in Fastly’s success by elevating our digital presence and driving growth through multi-channel digital campaigns. You will be responsible for overseeing and executing digital marketing strategies, including web development, web and digital demand generation, SEO, and integrated campaign management. As well, you’ll define, develop and deliver cross-functional integrated campaigns that build awareness and consideration for Fastly, and drive new opportunities and increased pipeline for sales. Your leadership will be instrumental in achieving our company's growth goals in both existing and new markets. 

Charter/Goals: 

  • Oversee digital marketing strategy and execution, including web development, web and digital demand generation, SEO, and full-funnel campaign management.
  • Define, develop and deliver cross-functional integrated campaigns that build awareness, consideration and preference for Fastly, and drive new opportunities leading to increased pipeline for sales, working in close collaboration with peers and key stakeholders.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Digital Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy aligned with Fastly’s pipeline growth goals, including elevated web presence, demand generation, SEO, and campaign initiatives.
  • Web Development and Management: Lead the development and maintenance of our company website, ensuring it is user-friendly, engaging, and optimized for conversion of key audiences in support of pipeline acceleration.
  • Digital Demand Generation: Create and manage digital demand generation campaigns to drive leads, nurture prospects, and increase customer acquisition with Account-Based Marketing (ABM)
  • SEO Strategy: Develop and implement an SEO strategy to improve organic search rankings, drive traffic, and enhance online visibility.
  • Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and measure multi-channel digital marketing campaigns across all cross-functional marketing disciplines, including paid, earned, owned and shared media, spanning all strategic audiences using ABM tactics to drive effective targeting in support of sales growth goals.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing digital marketing team, providing mentorship and guidance to drive creativity, innovation, and results.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Utilize data analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of digital marketing efforts, track KPIs, and provide insights for continuous improvement.
  • Budget Management: Manage the digital marketing budget efficiently, optimizing spending for maximum ROI.
  • Manage In House Agency Resources and External Vendors and Agencies: Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors and agencies as needed, ensuring all execution is aligned with Fastly’s growth and scale objectives.
  • Co-Create: work in close collaboration with senior peers from marketing, sales and product to identify and prioritize the highest potential campaign initiatives to drive Fastly’s growth.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • 15 + years of experience successfully leading related marketing functions at multiple technology companies with direct responsibility for global digital marketing and integrated campaigns strategy and execution.
  • Proven experience in leading marketing teams within software, technology or cloud services industries at scale of $1B+.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing global marketing teams at scale. 
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across different departments and regions.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing global integrated marketing campaigns at scale using ABM to drive alignment with sales goals.
  • Strong ability to ideate creative concepts and brief creative teams for inspired execution.
  • A bias for teamwork with demonstrable collaboration skills that include influencing colleagues and driving to win win solutions.
  • Well rounded experience in adjacent marketing functions to web, digital and campaigns including ability to understand and collaborate with senior leaders in product, solutions, content, thought leadership, brand, demand, growth, PR, ops, partner marketing, etc. 
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred; plus continuing education on latest knowledge and trends in digital, and integrated campaigns.

Work Hours: 

  • This position will require you to be available during core business hours. 

Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements: 

This is a HYBRID position and is open to the following office locations:

  • San Francisco, CA - you will work out of the Fastly office approximately 3 days/week (typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) 

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. 

This position will require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $211,370 to $264,220. 

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
