The Senior Director Enterprise Growth, Cloud and AI, is a new role within Pure Storage’s Enterprise Line of Business. In this role, you will act as the “General Manager” – from strategy to business plan to OKRs to execution –  focusing on how Pure Storage will win the cloud storage market in the Enterprise segment. Specifically, you will manage a team owning the business plans, market sensing feedback, and cross functionally driving outputs that meet go to market needs for winning:

  • Enterprise storage workloads in the public, hyperscale and multi-cloud (Azure, AWS, OCI, GCP, VMware, Containers, etc,) 
  • Large scale private and sovereign cloud market 
  • The AI data platform and analytics markets 
  • This begins with understanding what it takes to win the enterprise storage market – both on the product strategy and go to market fronts. You will be able to see market trends,  anticipate customer’s technology needs, deeply understand your competitions’ technical and business strategies, create go-to-market business plans that encompass all potential commercial routes to market (direct sales, channel sales, technology solutions, OEM, etc) and drive the successful execution of these plans across the organization.

    SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...

    In this role, you will lead a team of seasoned growth product managers who work cross-functionally to guide products and all surrounding requirements/programs from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product growth and anticipate timing of every step to ensure the NPI process is fully inclusive of what is needed for complete and coordinated go to market launches. You and your team will work closely with inbound product management, alliances, solutions, sales, marketing, finance and other business functions where needed to design and develop technologies that complement Pure’s entire portfolio and integrate with all solutions and use cases that will ensure sales velocity that take Pure Storage to the leading position in your defined domain. You and your team will be responsible for guiding the enterprise business throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our offerings to our users.

    You and your team will play a pivotal role as the technical/domain experts who manage the external messaging for your given domains, related solutions, and competitive differences. You will be a thought leader for your given domain area in the industry. You and your team will be responsible for developing and executing all go-to-market activities that drive business performance and customer satisfaction.

    In this role, you will be focused on a customer first approach to innovating ahead of their requirements.  This not only includes product technologies but also identifying all opportunities to capture incremental revenue growth through new use cases, new paths to market, or new acquisition models. You and your team must intuitively anticipate customer needs before they arise, you will be able to go beyond standard market research to predict where the market is trending and where future opportunities for innovation lie. 

    You will be a key driver of the NPI process for your domain.  As such, you will help scale products from the ground-up, organize product launches, and create a repeatable go-to-market process. You will also work with sales and marketing teams to build a holistic business and go-to-market plan that will deliver on both your near term and long-term growth goals. You will drive the last mile execution of these plans through close collaboration with your partners in sales, marketing, finance, IT and operations.

    In addition to the above execution, you will need to work with these teams to help drive budgetary decisions for annual operating plans to be able to meet the requirements that impact delivery of all of the above, as identified by your team.

    Responsibilities

    • Define and achieve business OKRs including top line growth, market share, offering pricing and contribution margin
    • Lead a team of high performing growth product managers who will own the individual areas within your all up business
    • Drive a cross functional team across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, IT and Operations to achieve business OKRs.
    • Be a trusted advisor for large/strategic customers, build and maintain excellent customer relationships. Gather customer insights and feedback, and infuse the learning back into the organization and product area roadmap, ensuring effective product launches and differentiated features.
    • Identify technology-driven strategies for customers and partner success and operational efficiency.
    • Drive alignment across Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Product Marketing functions to deliver solutions for the customer. Provide our direct and channel sales functions with the tools and insights required for success.
    • Be responsible for all Go-to-Market coordination and successful execution of plan.

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. MBA preferred.
    • 15 years of experience in outbound product management or related technical/product roles 
    • 5+ year’s people management experience and specifically, experiencing manager senior employees
    • Experience operating in a hyper-growth/entrepreneurial environment, scaling new and emerging products from the ground-up, and translating commercial business models/needs into technical solutions.
    • Experience working in an enterprise technology setting, with expertise in Infrastructure software/SaaS, and understanding of the data storage/management market as well as competitive dynamics/customer adoption behavior.
    • Experience operating in a global role or on a global scale.
    • Excellent narrative and storytelling skills that propel usage, adoption, and market momentum.
    • You will be based in Santa Clara, CA. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 3 days a week. As outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need.

    The annual base salary range is: $268,000 – $403,000. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

    This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
