Senior Director of Hardware Engineering and Manufacturing

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in managing hardware development programs at Consumer Electronics or Automotive Electronics device OEMs 
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a management role 
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics /Electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field. 
  • Familiarity with hardware standards and regulations is essential.
  • Strong leadership - able to manage multi-functional teams with high efficiency, able to resolve complex issues and deliver results under pressure and stringent deadlines. 
  • Solid communication skills in both verbal and written, able to communicate with high level (preferably C-level executive) clients effectively
  • Mandarin speaking and communication is a plus for this role

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the hardware engineering team and ensuring that the hardware products meet the company's quality, performance, and cost standards.
  • Collaborate with other senior executives to align the hardware vision and roadmap with the overall business goals and customer needs. 
  • Hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating Hardware Engineers/ Managers
  • Establishing and enforcing best practices, processes, and standards for hardware development, testing, and deployment; 
  • Managing the hardware budget, resources, and timelines; 
  • Vendor sourcing including RFP generation and Contract negotiation
  • Leading the hardware architecture, design, and prototyping of new and existing products; 
  • Troubleshooting and resolving hardware issues and risks
  • Conducting hardware reviews, audits, and quality assurance; 
  • Researching and implementing new hardware technologies and innovations; 
  • Communicating  hardware status, progress, and results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working with Contract Manufacturers and partners to bring hardware projects to mass production
  • Program Management of Hardware programs together with Contract Manufacturer resources 
  • Manage Manufacturing operations and supply chain activities for hardware development 
  • Work with key chip and module supply partners on roadmap to fulfill hardware product requirements
