The Senior Director of R&D Analytics will play a critical role in further developing our rapidly growing Data Analytics organization and supporting our Product and R&D teams.  Partnering with stakeholders within the analytics team and around the business, this role will surface key insights to drive business decision making and influence performance. Additionally, this position will manage critical work surfacing usage-based insights to our C-suite, connecting those trends with key business metric impact. This role requires someone with strong analytical and technical skills, and who is comfortable working across multiple functional areas in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coach and mentor analytics teams to surface insights to drive executive decision making across the business
  • Define product success metrics based on impact to company-level KPIs, connect usage trends to company performance
  • Improve and maintain high-visibility recurring reporting for Senior Product decision makers
  • Expand the broader Product Analytics org based on stakeholder need 
  • Make the team more efficient: Research and implement new tooling/processes team-wide; seek out and automate existing costly manual processes
  • Serve as an analytical and technical thought partner to stakeholders on the analytics and data science teams and around the business
  • Translate insights to drive executive decision making across the business, and help align targets to cross-functional concepts 
  • Develop and own a roadmap helping Product and R&D teams hit their targets and optimize their performance 
Skills & Attributes
  • Experience coaching and onboarding team members
  • Experience leading the technical execution of business intelligence and analytics related projects of large scope and complexity
  • Strong analytical and data wrangling skills and experience using statistical models
  • Strong knowledge of programming fundamentals, with an emphasis on code simplicity and performance
  • Experience combining data from disparate data sources to identify insights that were previously unknown
  • Committed to continuous improvement, with a passion for building processes/tools to make everyone more efficient
  • Committed to contributing to a collaborative, enjoyable, and psychologically safe work environment
  • The ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally to drive actionable and measurable results
  • A passion for the role of data in helping solve complex questions
  • A desire to constantly learn and improve themselves
  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of a SaaS business and/or experience working at one

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:$171,000—$336,000 USD
