The Sr. Director of Organizational Effectiveness will be a member of the People Team and will focus on helping to embed and measure the success of our new cultural framework, The Leadership Commitment, that clarifies what it means to be a leader at MongoDB and how we will maintain a culture where we live our values. The role will lead the development of MongoDB’s approach to driving large-scale change, including the end to end process, tools, and measures of success, which includes assessing organizational needs, designing and implementing large-scale solutions, as well as leading HR and People Organization Development (OD) programs and initiatives. 

This role is a part of the Culture and Development Team, a Center of Excellence on the People Team. The Culture and Development team is responsible for sustaining and growing our culture and employees through leadership development and learning, organization development, engagement, and inclusion. 

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Leads the team that manages our engagement survey process
  • Develops and manages organizational development (OD) strategies, processes, tools, measures, and templates
  • Uses a data-driven approach to assess OD needs of company-wide, business and functional units
  • Leads the design, development and implementation of large-scale programs, initiatives, and strategies tailored to meet OD needs and program goals
  • Designs and executes key programmatic elements of the OD process
  • Evaluates strategies and programs to measure the achievement of established goals, as well as the overall effectiveness and performance of the organization
  • Plans and leads short- and long-term planning for OD programs
  • Lead workshops and trainings for People Team (and business leaders as needed), regarding OD methods and tools
  • Provides consultative services to the business units
  • Facilitate focus groups, design workshops, and other stakeholder meetings
  • Facilitate alignment between multiple projects running simultaneously, identify dependencies, change management requirements, and prioritize accordingly
  • Manage relationships with the stakeholders across all levels, and ensure that the project team and stakeholders have an adequate understanding of ownership, timelines, resource needs, risks, contentions, and dependencies
  • Identify and define risks of the projects and work with stakeholders to develop scenarios to overcome them, exercise good judgment when escalating appropriately
  • Ensure alignment of the program schedule, project priorities and resources with the business objectives
 Required Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of progressive global experience in HR leading cross functional large scale global HR projects and strategies as a program manager and a team leader
  • Experience leading employee engagement surveys and/or listening tools
  • Previous managerial experience
  • Strong track record in delivering strategic and tactical solutions in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Strong knowledge of OD methodologies, measurement strategies, and tools
  • Makes decisions with a data mindset
  • Experience in strategic planning and implementation
  • Strong consulting skills (e.g., communication, influencing, facilitation and stakeholder management skills)
  • Excellence in written communication, and project documentation
  • Ability to design pragmatic templates, processes, tools, and measurement strategies, as well as analyze and use metrics and analytics 
  • Excellence in communicating and presenting, especially with executive audiences
  • Strategic mindset with a willingness to be hands on as required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in organizational development/organizational behavior or industrial-organizational psychology 
  • Six or more years of experience working in organizational development for operations in a large, scaled organizational and/or functional business unit. Tech experience preferred.
  • Experience in Talent Management, HR Business Partnering, and/or Organization Development
