This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and scalability of revenue accounting operations across a complex, multi-product, multi-region environment.

This leader will serve as the operational backbone of the Revenue Accounting organization—owning execution of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, strengthening internal controls, and evolving processes and systems to support continued growth, product innovation, and global expansion.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience running revenue accounting operations at scale, strong public-company discipline, and a proven ability to lead globally distributed teams in a high-velocity close environment.

Key Responsibilities

Global Revenue Close Leadership

    • Complex, multi-element arrangements
    • Global expansion and increasing transaction volumes
  • Identify and remediate manual, high-risk processes through process re-engineering, automation, and system enhancements

Controls, Compliance & Audit

  • Own the operational execution of SOX-relevant revenue controls, including documentation, testing support, and remediation
  • Maintain a consistently high level of audit readiness for internal audit, external auditors, and regulatory reporting
  • Partner with Technical Revenue Accounting to operationalize new accounting guidance, policies, and non-standard deal structures

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as a key partner to:
    • Sales Operations and Deal Desk (deal flow, approvals, pricing execution)
    • Billing and Order-to-Cash (invoice accuracy, data integrity)
    • FP&A (revenue forecasting, variance analysis, management reporting)
    • Legal and Product (contract terms, new offerings, go-to-market changes)
  • Translate business and product changes into executable revenue close workflows without disrupting reporting timelines

People & Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing global organization, including managers and senior managers across regions
  • Establish clear ownership, role clarity, and performance expectations aligned with senior-level leadership standards
  • Build succession plans and leadership depth to support long-term organizational resilience
  • Foster a culture of accountability, operational rigor, and continuous improvement
Qualifications

Required

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, with significant responsibility for revenue close operations
  • Experience at a public, high-growth SaaS or technology company
  • Deep expertise in ASC 606, revenue close mechanics, and scaling revenue operations
  • Proven success leading global, multi-geo teams across time zones
  • Strong understanding of SOX, internal controls, and audit requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to design scalable processes in complex, evolving business environments

Preferred

  • Experience supporting usage-based pricing, marketplace revenue, or cloud consumption models
  • Hands-on leadership in major systems implementations or revenue process transformations
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification
  • Extensive experience partnering with Big 4 auditors
Leadership Attributes
  • Enterprise Operator: Designs durable processes that scale with the business
  • Execution-Focused: Balances precision, speed, and accountability in a high-stakes reporting environment
  • Systems-Oriented: Understands how upstream systems and data quality impact revenue outcomes
  • People-First Leader: Develops leaders, builds bench strength, and drives clarity at scale
