Bankrate is looking for an Editor to join our Content Partnerships team, helping to lead our credit card coverage for our content partners. This editor will be responsible for assigning content, updating existing stories, editing content from a team of freelance contributors, and collaborating with the editorial and SEO teams on content creation for a major, respected media brand. 

The ideal candidate is a skilled editor with strong credit card knowledge, as well as excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.

What You'll Do:

  • Help lead the end-to-end production of our credit card content, including identifying, assigning, and editing SEO-optimized articles on credit cards 
  • Manage a network of freelancers, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality content 
  • Coordinate content priorities and production with key stakeholders of the external content partner
  • Stay up to date on credit card news and offers to identify content opportunities 
  • Edit content for AP style, brand voice, and tone
  • Collaborate with the lead editor and editorial/SEO teams to organize and execute content calendars

What We're Looking For:

  • 4+ years of writing/editing experience with consumer-driven, personal finance content — preferably credit card content
  • Strong ability to edit articles for grammar, style, clarity, and adherence to AP style and brand guidelines
  • Experience creating or editing content based on SEO concepts and best practices, including the ability to optimize content for search engines 
  • Solid working knowledge of consumer credit, such as how to build credit, manage debt, understand credit scores, etc. 
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • Editorial operations experience in advanced content planning 
  • Highly accountable team member who is process-oriented and able to update stakeholders on content production progress
  • Experience meeting tight deadlines while working independently to manage multiple publishing projects
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team of freelance contributors, providing guidance and feedback to ensure consistent, high-quality content

Compensation:

  • USA Compensation Range: $75,000-$102,000*
    • New York City Compensation Range: $75,000- $144,000* *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
