About the team

In Hardware, we are passionate about creating these beautifully designed card payment devices and accessories that enable our merchants to start, run, and grow their own businesses. In doing so, we deal with a diverse range of engineering topics - industrial and electronic design, embedded systems, all the way to mobile apps and backend services.

What you will do:
- Oversee capacity and skill set requirements, upskilling and hiring
- Drive personal growth and career development, conduct regular team reviews and feedback
- Manage performance, ensuring the team meets and exceeds expectations
- Ensure an optimal software development lifecycle (SDLC), including RFC processes, code reviews, testing, and releases
- Distribute work effectively across the team to meet project deadlines
- Monitor and track development KPIs to ensure consistent progress and quality
- Manage competing priorities across projects
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure successful delivery
You will be great for this role if:
- You have proven experience in hiring, building, and leading high-performance engineering teams.
- You have a technical background in embedded systems/ low level development/game development.
- You still love coding - even though you don’t get to do it hands on in your work.
- You set high standards for what quality should look like and you care about the outcome.
