Senior Enterprise (Security) Architect - West Coast

Fastly’s Enterprise Architect team is responsible for providing security insights, technical recommendations and knowledge throughout the prospecting and pre-sales stages of the sales process. Partnering with Sales Engineers, Account Management and Channels, representing Fastly’s security services internally and externally, helping Fastly to win new business and grow Fastly’s Security Business across the globe. 

Fastly is looking for an Application and API Security subject matter expert to join our North America team leading efforts to drive Fastly Security Sales, effectively communicating Fastly’s Security Services to our largest, most complex customers and use cases across North America

As an Enterprise (Security) Architect you also will be key in efforts to level up and enable our local sales and sales engineering teams on Fastly’s security portfolio, competitive displacement and the wider threat landscape. Lastly, you will be key in North America wide thought leadership engagements and events.

What You'll Do

Sales

  • This is a client facing role; as Fastly’s trusted security advisor, you will lead local teams in winning net new security business

  • Help to build best practices with regards to proof of concepts (PoC), product demonstrations and other customer facing activities. 

Product

  • Help establish and maintain a feedback loop to Fastly’s Security Product team(s), ensuring that product features are prioritised and that the voice of the customer is heard.

  • Ensure that the local teams are aware of new Security features and their associated use cases and that proof of value exercises are implemented using best practices.

  • Improve competitive analysis and displacement techniques for competing security solutions in the EMEA region. 

Enablement

  • Ensure Sales and Sales Engineering are kept up to date on Fastly Security offerings through running internal demonstrations, presentations and Q&A sessions.

  • Help teams stay up to date on competitive events and services. 

Thought Leadership

  • Become a Fastly Security thought leader through compelling

    • Blogs and Whitepapers

What We're Looking For

  • Seasoned security expert (8+ years) with strong hands-on experience in these technologies and processes.

    • Content Delivery and Edge Platforms

    • Web Application Firewalls (WAF)

    • DDoS Mitigation

    • Bot Management

  • Excellent communication and speaking skills

  • Ability to act with little to no supervision

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

  • DevOps tools and processes

Work Hours: 

  • This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.  

There is a strong preference for Hybrid near a local office.  However, we may be willing to consider remote candidates within the US.

This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.

Salary:

The estimated range for On-Target Earnings for this role is $189,823.00 to $227,787.00.  On-Target Earnings consists of a combination of annual base pay and sales compensation variable target. The standard pay split for this role (i.e. base pay vs. variable target %) is 75/25.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role is eligible to participate in Fastly’s global sales compensation plan and may participate in Fastly’s equity program.
