About the team:

Our Finance team is a global group of dedicated professionals focused on building a world-class finance organization. The team encompasses Accounting & Tax, FP&A and Deal Desk, working collaboratively across borders to drive financial excellence and support our company’s growth. As a key part of this mission, the Finance team provides accurate financial insights, ensures compliance, and delivers strategic support to empower business decision-making at all levels. We are looking for a skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team and help us achieve our ambitious goals.

In this role, you will be:

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of month-end closing of commercetools Ltd (London) and potential other commercetools entities (including payroll posting, commission and benefits)
  • Main contact for any accounting related payroll and benefits queries for commercetools Ltd (London) and potential other group entities
  • Processing payment runs for various commercetools entities
  • Responsible for accurate and timely bank account postings including bank account reconciliation and administration
  • Supporting operational daily business (including accounts payable and travel expense reimbursement)
  • Ongoing review of accounting to ensure compliance according to local GAAP, tax law and group policies and to strengthen internal controls
  • Preparation of annual accounts including support of external audit
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations (including payroll and benefits) and filing of local tax returns (e.g. VAT)

What you need to be successful:

  • Successfully completed business studies with a focus on accounting/tax or comparable qualifications
  • Professional experience in the accounting department of a fast-growing business or in audit/tax advisory (5+ years)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in accounting according to UK GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting
  • Good knowledge of UK and international tax law
  • Experience in working with ERP systems (ideally NetSuite), very good MS Office skills and a general affinity for IT/tooling topics
  • Very good English language skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, structured process thinking and high affinity for numbers
  • Independent, proactive way of working and ability to work in a team
  • Detail-oriented working style with a high degree of accuracy
