Your mission

We are in search of a proficient AI Engineer, preferably with expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI, LLMs, Deep Learning, and AI solution architecture. You will be working as a Senior Generative AI Engineer in our Innovation Lab. Here, you will play a pivotal role in bridging Generative AI with business innovation, leading the development of pioneering applications customized for various industries, and fostering collaborative tech development.

We understand that building innovative AI products is more than hacking scripts and notebooks together. We see it as an engineering discipline and therefore at the intersection of Software Engineering and deep AI Research. Pragmatism and an understanding of the latest software development and AI  tools are essential to well-founded AI solutions. 

You will play a key role in the development, driving the decision-making and implementation of innovative AI solutions for diverse industries, leveraging your technical expertise. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of AI technologies and experience in designing and implementing cutting-edge AI models and systems. As part of our Innovation Lab, you collaborate closely with other AI Experts, AI Strategists and Product Owners to deliver high-potential, cutting-edge, game-changing prototypes and products. These will lay a foundation for further development of AI capabilities within applied AI or productionization of promising products for our partner companies.

Your profile

• In-depth knowledge and experience in machine learning,  deep learning and generative AI techniques.

• A STEM-Degree or equivalent, such as one in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering discipline, is preferred.

• Minimum 2-5 years of working experience in a comparable senior engineer position

• Solid experience with Python, frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch

• Experience with DevOps and MLOps practices, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.

• Experience in leading the development of machine learning and deep learning projects

• Thorough understanding of program / software design and service or application development, as well as professional software engineering workflows

• Foundational knowledge across essential statistics and machine/deep learning concepts

• Deep knowledge and experience in NLP and in at least one further specific domain in DL/ML/Data Science / statistics. From transformers to Bayesian graphical models to model interpretability or meta-learning for neural networks, you tell us about it. 

• Ideally hands on experience with model training, fine-tuning, evaluation, optimization, risk mitigation even in production environments. 

• You work best in a high-performing team and have the drive & willingness to learn new things and to continuously improve yourself and appliedAI

• You posses excellent technical, analytical and problem-solving skills and combine them with strong presentation and communication skills

• You see yourself as a self motivated, responsible, reliable person and strong team player.
