Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Build Engineering
The Build Engineering Team helps Collibra’s developers do more. We help our internal teams deliver software in the best possible way. We develop a robust set of build tools and infrastructure that supports the efficient development and delivery of code. We keep our eyes open for ways to further enhance the engineering teams' ability to deliver high-quality software rapidly.
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will enable partner teams (Engineering, Product, Security, Compliance, etc.) by providing best practices, tooling, automation, documentation, guidance, and self-service options. In a broad sense, you will help to define and maintain the engineering ecosystem for Collibra.
This is a hybrid position based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Senior Infrastructure Engineers at Collibra- Have a deep understanding of their team's codebase or specialized expertise in many relevant technical areas for their team (eg. database migrations, deployments, or specific modules or workflows).
- Are able to deliver new projects and initiatives from scratch.
- Write meaningful code reviews in comments on pull requests.
- Manage open-ended problems and ambiguity in tasks and stories by proactively and sometimes independently resolving blockers.
- Make well-reasoned design decisions, identifying potential issues, trade-offs, risks, and the appropriate level of abstraction.
- Debug issues throughout the stack, codebase, application, or system in various environments (e.g. sandbox or validation), finding and reporting the root cause or a viable workaround in a timely manner.
- Understand how people use the product/service(s) they build, and how their work fits into our wider product roadmap and uses this knowledge to help groom stories geared towards fulfilling specific business requirements.
- Identify and communicate the risk and health of their services and workflows in terms of their ability to scale and integrate with other company technologies in the short-term (6 month) and long-term (2+ years).
- Understand and help evolve the technical vision of their product or service.
- Ensure documentation exists for all critical systems and creates it when it does not.
- Contribute to the foundational good of their technology area and engineering overall, helping to define patterns and canonical examples, plus paying down tech debt.
- Share their experience and expertise to help others grow.
- Lead and coach other engineers within their team.
- 5+ years of experience as an engineer delivering IaC solutions using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Python, Cloudformation, and similar.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience automating cloud resource provisioning in Cloud ops such as GCP and AWS, ensuring scalability, resilience, and cost-effectiveness.
- Minimum of 3 years experience with Jenkins or GitHub Actions pipelines, crafting pipelines that whisk code from development to production, optimizing those pipelines for speed, reliability and security.
- Familiarity with deploying containerized applications such as Jenkins, Gradle, and JFrog Artifactory.
- Familiarity deploying applications into a Kubernetes environment.
- Strong analytical and Agile mindset familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience is required.

- A bridge builder able to explain the technical challenges within their area of expertise to non-technical audiences.
- A professional who maintains awareness of industry trends and tools, bringing more to the job than just the day-to-day.
- Within your first month, you will be able to demonstrate fundamental knowledge about Collibra processes/tools used within our current Build Engineering ecosystem.
- Within your third month, you will be a contributing member of the Build Engineering team, taking on medium-sized projects for the team.
- Within your sixth month, you will have a substantial understanding of the existing tools and systems. You will begin taking on larger projects and contribute new ideas and best practices to the team.
The standard base salary range for this position is 152,600 - $228,000 per year. This position is not eligible for additional commission-based compensation. Salary offers are based on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, and location.
