Your Role  

We are looking for a Lights and Cabin Senior Systems Engineer with experience on development of Lights and Cabin systems, and possibly of other embedded systems such as avionics, to join our innovative team that will shape the future of urban e-mobility. 

This position will report to our Cabin and Lighting Lead and will contribute, as part of an integrated cross-functional team, to the Lights, Cabin and Avionics systems design, certification, and delivery of the Lilium Jet.  

You will have a chance to shape the future of mobility by developing systems and coordinating with regulatory partners/suppliers. 

You will take responsibility for the development of systems and components while ensuring compliance to the aircraft and system requirements. Those activities will support the closure of aircraft development program milestones from design till flight testing activities and TC. 

Main tasks will be related to the development of the Lighting system (exterior and interior) and support of cabin systems. 

 Your Day to Day 

  • Specification of system, interfaces and components requirements as per ARP4754.
  • Requirements validation activities.
  • Definition and update of system architecture.
  • Definition of interfaces (ICDs), and wiring definition.
  • Specification of Supplier requirements.
  • Support definition of mechanical installation.
  • Update of system plan, V&V plans and test plans.
  • Definition of tests (on simulator and prototype test) for validation and verification, preparation of test requests.
  • DO160 Qualification activities with supplier: review of Qualification Test Plans, Procedure, Reports.
  • Participate in Supplier management.
  • Configuration Management activities (change process, as needed).
  • Support safety activities (conducted by safety specialist).
  • Work together with human factors, pilots, CVEs, safety and avionics system engineers to define the required solutions. 

Your Profile 

  • MSc./Eng. in Aeronautical, Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
  • 7 years’ experience in the aerospace sector, preferably in civil aeronautical applications.
  • 3 years’ experience on development of Lights systems, preferably in civil aeronautical applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of ARP-4754A/ED-79A.
  • Experience in requirement management: requirement authoring and validation with related tool (e.g. Polarion, DOORS, etc.).
  • Experience related to environmental qualification based on DO160.
  • Experience on development of Cabin systems is beneficial.
  • Experience with cabin systems is desired.
  • Experience in full development cycle and EASA certification is desired.
  • Experiences with MOC SC-VTOL is a bonus.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
