Senior Localization Program Manager

Critical to this investment is a Senior Localization Program Manager to manage Toast’s localization programs and projects across the organization, and externally with our language service provider. This position operates at a mid-senior level, reporting to the Head of Localization, and is a unique opportunity for anyone who is inspired by building global scale products and designing end-to-end localization workflows.
Location: This role is remote-friendly but requires travel up to 10% of the time to visit engineering teams in Boston and Dublin.
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Responsible for day-to-day project management for roadmap, ad-hoc, and continuous localization projects
- Interface with Toast stakeholders who submit ad-hoc localization requests via issue tracking system; from request through delivery
- Interface with LSP (Language Service Provider) for all translation and localization projects from request through delivery
- Create playbooks and documentation for localization workflows for all teams across the org, and for the LSP where required
- Create and maintain project trackers for roadmap, continuous, and ad-hoc localization requests
- Work closely with Global Services (i18n) to troubleshoot functional and i18n bugs
- Educate stakeholders about the localization process when first interacting
- Maintain track of month-over-month vendor expenses and analyze data to find opportunities to optimize workflows and cost savings
- Manage LSP project management performance and evaluate additional LSPs as required
- Set up and maintain a localization productivity dashboard
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
- 5+ years experience being a localization program manager on the client-side, helping to build and optimize workflows for a variety of functions such as Product, Marketing, Customer Success, etc.
- Passion for helping create inclusive, multilingual experiences for Toast’s customers and partners
- M.A. in Translation and Localization Management or related field
- Native or near-native in English and at least one additional language
- Vendor management experience of LSPs
- Language Quality Management Experience using MQM and other language quality best practices incl. design and management of on-screen testing processes
- Experience building engaging localization process documentation/training for internal stakeholders and LSPs
- Experience evangelizing internationalization and localization best practices to stakeholders
- Excellent verbal/written communication, analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work well within a diverse, geographically distributed, multicultural environment
- Knowledge of restaurant and hospitality industry is a plus

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.Pay Range$109,000—$174,000 CAD
