Machine Learning is a cornerstone at TaskRabbit, and we're expanding our functional teams to deliver cutting-edge AI and ML products that drive new initiatives within our business. We are on the lookout for a highly motivated and seasoned Senior Machine Learning Engineer with Software Engineering skill sets to join our team and contribute to shaping the future of ML/AI at TaskRabbit. In this role, you will take on exciting challenges in machine learning that directly impact the way people discover home services through the TaskRabbit platform.
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in advancing our capabilities in the machine learning platform and contributing significantly to groundbreaking projects in search ranking, content discovery, and recommender systems. Your collaboration with other engineers will involve implementing algorithms to enhance business outcomes. Additionally, you will work closely with software engineers to ensure the scalability, reliability, and optimization of our models and infrastructure.
What You'll Work On:- Building scalable and reliable ML infrastructure that supports reproducible feature engineering and machine learning model deployment.
- Building pipelines that support real-time, near real-time and batch processes.
- Build monitoring services to understand the data quality and model performance of complex systems.
- Collaborate with the engineering and science teams to optimize existing algorithms for training and evaluation pipelines.
- Independently solving moderately complex problems and writing clean, efficient, and sustainable code.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation and software engineering life cycle.
We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Below gives you a sense of how we're thinking about what you'll need to be successful in the role.
- BS or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of industry experience in building high quality ML infrastructure and data pipelines.
- Solid software engineering skills with proficiency in one or more programming languages including Python or Java.
- In-depth knowledge of build/release systems and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with building REST API based services.
- Experience with modern technologies and services, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Airflow.
- Experience with tools for Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform.
- Experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL.
- Passionate to learn new technologies quickly.
- Great communication skills, both written and oral; comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to the team.
- Passion for quickly learning new technologies.
At Taskrabbit, our approach to compensation is designed to be competitive, transparent and equitable. Our total compensation consists of base pay + bonus + benefits + perks.
The base pay range for this position is $136,000 - $189,000. This range is representative of base pay only, and does not include any other total cash compensation amounts, such as company bonus or benefits. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above, and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, geography, and level.
