As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining machine learning models across key business areas. Your work will involve tackling challenges that draw on your expertise in interconnected fields such as software engineering, data engineering, data science, and machine learning. Ultimately, you will drive and contribute to solutions addressing some of our most important challenges, including maximizing availability, reliability, and safety. You will join a team uniquely positioned to ensure our users always have a scooter nearby when and where they need it. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in anticipating and addressing vehicle maintenance needs early, which is essential for delivering an exceptional riding experience.

YOUR MISSION AT VOI

• You will be an integral part of a cross-functional product team, contributing to end-to-end machine learning projects. This includes starting with a business problem, developing solution hypotheses, defining data requirements, creating prototypes, implementing solutions in production, and measuring their business impact
• Self-sufficiently drive and develop production-grade models with an emphasis on reliability and scalability. Collaborate with the product manager to prioritize solution paths, ensuring a focus on delivering the greatest business impact
• Enhance and maintain our machine learning platform, ensuring that Voi’s machine learning products adhere to state-of-the-art MLOps standards
• Influence and introduce strategic topics, including decisions on tech stack, enhancements to team workflows, and collaborative prioritization of product directions with the product manager, based on feasibility and anticipated business impact.
• Guide, coach, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance team and functional workflows, fostering a culture of mutual support, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing

WHAT YOU NEED TO EMBARK

We’re looking for a Machine Learning professional with experience from working in a fast-paced environment. In addition to being fluent in English, we believe the right person has:

• A higher education degree in a mathematical science such as computer science, mathematics, physics, bioinformatics, or a similar data-focused field
• A strong business sense with laser focus on business value and user impact
• Fluency in Python in particular and software engineering practices in general
• Documented experience of working with MLOps in GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure
• Documented experience in developing production-quality software
• Hands-on contribution to managing projects from start to finish – from tackling business challenges to planning, building, launching, and keeping an eye on the results
