  • The Performance and Insight team exists to provide greater understanding of our operational performance, improve the accuracy and accessibility of data, and adapt quickly to our changing operational and technical environment. We handle complex and challenging issues and projects, embed a culture of continuous improvement, and enable the business’ strategic transformation.
  • Through great Data Governance - we make it easier to find and understand our performance in data.  Through great data governance we ensure that our data is managed systematically so it can be used efficiently, securely, and is accessible to those who need it.
  • Easier to understand performance data - we create simple to understand MI against a set of visual standards, we work with each part of our business to educate our teams on how to spend the least amount of time finding the data vs investing their time in making the right decisions based on what the data tells us
  • Understanding the work - we have a complex business and we architect MI to bring to light how we perform end-to-end showing what are the key drivers of work and where bottlenecks exist in the system.
  • Innovation and collaboration - as well as making sure we create the best MI today we are looking forward to tomorrow to look at new ways to automate our reporting and embed AI as a way to help our stakeholders identify where their focus should be

This role in a nutshell:

An exciting opportunity in this new role you’ll be leading a team to embed our data governance and standards - defining and rolling out standards covering the data we use, ensuring we access and use our data to drive insight and decision making though great governance and stewardship processes.  You’ll support understanding what data answers our questions and helping ensure great lineage, quality and ownership is in place. You'll own the key relationships with product engineers to ensure sources of data are created and managed and Data function to shape the overall data maturity framework. You’ll own the overall value creation process and agile ways of working for planning and prioritising our work. You will also own the blueprint for how we frame MI for each area of the business to create the simplest MI playbook for everyone so everyone knows what they are measuring, where to get it and how to interpret the information.

Within this role you will get to marry your skills in analytics and data management to drive solutions to our biggest data and insight gaps and problems, creating best in class service for our customers.

Your key outputs will be:

  • Define and provide comprehensive standards and methodologies for creating foundational datasets.
  • Develop and implement best practices for bespoke insight and dashboard design.
  • Ensure consistency and quality in data visualisation and reporting.
  • Create, maintain, and own visualisation and design standards.
  • Leverage industry best practices to enhance visual representation of data.
  • Continuously improve visualisation techniques to meet evolving business needs.
  • Set the standards for our System of MI approach
  • Promote enterprise-wide data collaboration, engaging teams across Operations, CX, PX, and Commercial.
  • Foster a culture of healthy dialogue, community building, and engagement.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance data literacy and visualisation skills across the organisation
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key third-party vendors and partners.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in visualisation standards through external collaborations.
  • Facilitate upskilling of internal analysts by leveraging external expertise and resources.
  • Apply experience in performance management to monitor and enhance team productivity and effectiveness.
  • Implement tools and methodologies to track progress and measure success.
  • Drive change initiatives aimed at optimising performance and achieving strategic goals.
  • Establish and manage an operating rhythm for key incremental ceremonies such as PI Planning, Mid-Increment Reviews, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Ensure alignment and integration of these ceremonies with overall business objectives.
  • Utilise performance management tools and methodologies to drive continuous improvement and change.
  • Identify the most pressing data problems to focus on, and support data owners and producers to find the best ways to resolve these
  • Working with teams to migrate data in to Dataform
  • Working with the team to ensure GitHub and Dataform are used and governed with the right templates
  • Supporting teams with Dataform set up on GCP and Github integration
  • Define  methods of measuring the compliance of data with best practice
  • Take an iterative approach to rolling out change; starting small, delivering quickly, evaluating the process, and finding ways to refine and improve.
