About the role

As Crunchyroll expands its push into games, Crunchyroll is looking for a Sr. Manager, Games Community to lead Crunchyroll’s community efforts for its portfolio of games. With overlap between anime fans and gamers and the growing popularity of anime, you will build the future of anime-based and anime-inspired games for the leading anime content provider outside of Japan. You will establish best-practices for all of our Crunchyroll Games community and social channels, improving our overall community efforts, leading a small team of Community experts, and building relationships across the company. Success for this role will be measured by the in-game and out-of-game player/audience engagement, the growth and retention of the Crunchyroll games audience, collaboration between internal and external partners. 

  • Oversee, coach, and grow the Games Community organization, being the voice of the player to our teams and the voice of the game to players

  • Lead the strategy to grow the Crunchyroll Games community across multiple channels and platforms

  • Create community reports centered around feedback collected from the community, concerning issues, and community sentiment to the product leads. developing best-processes, managing channel management, community reporting and feedback

  • Work with the Product, UA, and Publishing team to create a social schedule around current/future activations and increase overall growth and management of Crunchyroll owned social and community channels

  • Create partner management processes and with external developers, publishing partners, and licensors

  • Build relationships including with multiple teams including PMM, UA, Games Production, Central Marketing, and others. 

In the role of Sr. Manager, Games Community, you will report to the Vice President, Games Publishing.

About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

  • You have 8+ years of experience in the games industry, with 4 years managing community and social strategy, programs, and channels

  • You have knowledge of and experience in building communities on all relevant platforms (Discord, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit)

  • You have launched and live-operated games in all stages of a games lifecycle, including Soft Launch, GTM, Launch, Live-Marketing, Maintenance, and Sunset. 

  • You know intrinsically how to motivate and inspire partners and external partners to take meaningful actions towards achieving aligned goals. 

  • You understand the long-term value of and, can balance the need to align with the

  • Experience working with IP and license holders

  • Conversational to Fluent in an Asian language a plus

About the Team

Games sits under the broader umbrella of New Business and is an important growth priority. Games Publishing is an established function within the business and has been given a new remit to improve marketing efficiency, building effective internal and external relationships, and improve meaningful results in the pursuit of a comprehensive overall games strategy. It includes Product Marketing, User Acquisition, Community, Creative Services, Strategy, Forecasting, and Insights. Success for the team is measured by revenue, profit, subscriber growth, and subscriber retention.

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
