Senior Manager, Product Communications

Lyft is looking for a senior manager to play a key role in driving forward our compelling product narrative across initiatives, with a particular focus on our riders. This means driving the process for building and launching product announcements that encompass multi-channel, earned media programs including narrative development, product demos, event planning, and influencer engagement. The successful candidate will be a resourceful self-starter, who is adept at quickly shifting gears in an extremely fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with the Marketing, Product, Partnerships, Public Policy, and Legal teams across a range of topics. In this role you’ll also work alongside a team of communications professionals across our Corporate, Consumer, Brand Journalism and Social teams.

Responsibilities:- Strategic Communication Planning: Help build compelling product narratives that support Lyft’s broader vision.
- Contribute to compelling consumer and technology narratives that support the company’s broader narrative and vision.
- Build strategic and creative communications plans that strengthen Lyft’s image and reputation with consumers.
- Partner with business leaders across the company - especially marketing - to build compelling and strategic communications strategies, campaigns and plans in support of the company overall, the business units, and specific products and services.
- Media & Public Relations: Work directly with top tier media to help them be successful and ensure they understand Lyft’s vision and progress. Drive the development and execution of public relations campaigns to promote brand awareness and manage the company's public image, ensuring consistency with the company's messaging and positioning.
- Design and build integrated communications capability including across new and emerging platforms.
- Work in partnership with functions across the company - including product, engineering, legal, insurance, and customer experience - to ensure product-related stories are reported accurately.
- 7+ years of communications experience.
- Strong experience building constructive relationships with top tier reporters, editors and influencers. Has great media relationships / experiences and isn’t afraid to pick up the phone to create new ones.
- Proven experience as a trusted communications advisor to business partners and leaders. Has interfaced, influenced and partnered with executives.
- Not afraid to take big swings and go for whales!
- Experience shaping and developing narratives that align with the company mission and resonate with audiences.
- Thrives in complex situations and fast-paced environments. Dives deep and asks questions.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Self-starter, independently motivated, leads oneself and influences others. Has experience managing a team in dynamic industries.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid
The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $128,000 - $160,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
