Lincoln International follows a hybrid work structure with an emphasis on in office collaboration.Our employees work in our Chicago office Monday through Thursday each week, with the option to work remotely or from the office on Fridays. Duties & Responsibilities:

Lincoln’s Senior Manager, U.S. Accounting Operations is responsible for overseeing the U.S. organization's accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and managing a team of accounting professionals. This role requires analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong leadership skills to support the company's financial and strategic goals while maintaining accurate financial reports.

This role is ideal for experienced accounting professionals with a strong background in financial management and leadership.  The Senior Manager, U.S. Accounting Operations plays a critical role in driving the organization’s financial success and operational efficiency.

We envision the Senior Manager, U.S. Accounting Operations will be initially tasked with the following:

  • Accounting Operations Management
    • Manage daily accounting functions including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
    • Monitor accounting activities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies.
    • Develop and implement accounting processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    • Ensure proper documentation of accounting transactions and maintain organized financial records.
    • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly closing processes.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
    • Provide detailed financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Oversee the consolidation of financials for US legal entities.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
    • Oversee the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual FINRA statutory filings.
    • Actively monitor cash across the US legal entities to ensure FINRA compliance.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
    • Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent errors, fraud, and financial risks.
    • Monitor for changes in accounting standards and industry regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Audit Coordination
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during annual FINRA broker dealer audit.
    • Lead team in preparation of audit schedules and provide necessary documentation to auditors.
    • Ensure timely resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
  • Leadership and Team Development
    • Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team of four to enhance performance and professional growth.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
    • Train staff on new accounting standards, tools, and best practices.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Budgeting and Financial Planning
    • Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage the annual budget.
    • Track actual performance against budgeted goals and report variances.
    • Support strategic planning initiatives by providing financial insights and analysis.
    • Assist in forecasting future financial trends and preparing cash flow projections.
  • Strategic Collaboration
    • Partner with other departments to provide financial insights and guidance.
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align accounting practices with organizational goals.
    • Support business expansion efforts, mergers, or acquisitions with financial analysis and due diligence.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Certifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
    • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) required
  • Experience
    • Minimum 8-10 years of increasing accounting experience, with 3–5 years in a managerial / supervisory role.
    • Experience with financial reporting, multi-entity consolidations, and compliance with U.S. GAAP
    • Familiarity with financial reporting, external audit processes, and internal controls.
  • Technical Skills
    • Solid proficiency in accounting software (ie: NetSuite, Blackline, Stampli, LeaseQuery, Workiva and Concur).
    • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, financial modeling).
    • Familiarity with financial planning tools and business intelligence software.
  • Soft Skills
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to present financial data to non-financial users
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work Environment
    • Company-wide in office work policy four days per week
    • Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and attention to detail.

The salary range for this role is $120,000-$150,000 on an annual basis. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Chicago. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.  

This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
