SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...Pure Storage is looking for a dedicated Manufacturing Operations Infrastructure Engineer to join our team, focusing on developing automation and documentation to ensure scalable and reliable technical solutions that enhance operational efficiency. This role involves providing technical mentorship and leadership while administering Linux systems, network switches, storage arrays, and associated infrastructure.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Technical Mentorship: Provide guidance and technical mentoring for peers within the team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Operational Excellence: Plan, deploy, maintain, secure, automate, and monitor infrastructure for Manufacturing Operations at contract manufacturer sites and test labs, ensuring operational efficiency.

  • Automation Implementation: Integrate automation solutions as standard practice to enhance efficiency and reliability across operations.

  • Documentation and Process Improvement: Create and refine documentation, standards, procedures, and run books to standardize responses to issues and improve overall operational efficiency.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Manufacturing Test and Software Development teams to develop cross-functional solutions for common challenges.

  • Systems and Network Administration: Administer Linux systems, network switches, and storage arrays, emphasizing security hardening against threats.

  • Systems Automation: Develop applications and scripts, utilizing monitoring software to detect and rectify issues. Support automated deployment and configuration management of Linux systems through custom scripts and configuration management tools.

  • Incident Response: Participate in an on-call rotation to promptly address incidents that may disrupt product shipment capabilities.

  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute innovative ideas to improve automation and productivity across the team, focusing on operational enhancements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities to mentor the team and engage cross-functionally.

  • Automation Experience: 2+ years in systems automation using tools such as Puppet or Ansible, along with scripting languages like Bash or Python.

  • Technical Proficiency: 4+ years of solid Linux administration experience, preferably in a DevOps/SRE setting, with strong knowledge of VMware ESX, SQL database administration, and storage arrays.

  • Operational Leadership: Understanding of production environments and workflows essential for maintaining and scaling systems as the business grows.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

You will be based in Lehi, UT. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 4 days a week. As outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need.

The annual base salary range is: $136,000 - $203,000. 

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
