Your mission

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Software Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that drive the efficiency and reliability of our network infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software components and contribute to the optimization and security of our networked systems.This includes:

  • Network Protocol Design and Implementation: Design, develop, and implement network protocols that govern data transmission and communication within our network infrastructure.
  • Network Application Development: Create and maintain software-defined networking (SDN) solutions for our constellation network.
  • Security Enhancement: Implement and improve security features to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data transmitted over the network.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize the performance of networked applications and protocols to ensure efficient data transfer and minimal latency.
  • Network Management: Develop tools and software for managing and monitoring network infrastructure, including configuration management, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with program and operations teams to develop and integrate new features and functionality into the network.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and address technical challenges, making informed decisions and finding innovative solutions.
  • Technology Evaluation: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential to enhance the company's software solutions.
  • Leadership: Mentor and guide junior members of the team.

What you bring on the table

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in network software development with a focus on software defined networking (SDN)
  • A strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS L2 and L3 VPNs, LDP)
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in networking, such as C/C++, Java, Python, etc
  • Familiarity with security principles and best practices for networked systems
  • Experience with network management tools
  • Basic knowledge of mobile networks (LTE and 5G) would be desirable
  • Experience with with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English
