Wayfair is seeking a collaborative, self-motivated, and data-driven Senior Packaging Engineer. Our Incident and Returns Team is looking for a Senior Packaging Engineer in our Boston office. This engineer will help us 

Revolutionize the way we inspect packaging at scale

Provide both Suppliers and Wayfair’s internal supply chain teams insight as to how to package items to withstand the journey through supply chain - we will build the capability to share this information through multiple mediums (guidebooks, instructional video etc).

Offer packaging expertise as our procurement teams purchase packaging materials for daily operational use

Requirements:

• Minimum BS Degree in Packaging Engineering preferred and with 3-5 years of relevant experience. 
• Packaging certifications and/or affiliations with packaging industry organization is a plus
• Healthy dose of pragmatism and project management skills
• Understanding different uses of materials and their applications within the protective packaging environment  
• Analytical thinker and ability to work and understand large datasets in Google Sheets
• Ability to identify performance problems and leverage appropriate technical expertise to craft appropriate solutions
• ~20% domestic travel
