This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.

THE ROLE

The Pure Storage Senior Partner Technical Manager (PTM) supporting our national partners is a critical and senior role that shapes the technical strength and long-term success of Pure’s partner ecosystem. As a member of the Systems Engineering organization, the PTM represents Pure Storage across our most strategic partners, enabling them to confidently position, design, and deliver Pure solutions across their customer base. This role engages closely with Channel, SE, Sales, Executive stakeholders, and Regional/National Partner Account Managers to drive aligned technical strategy and field execution.

The PTM is accountable for identifying, developing, and growing Champion Partner SEs; technical leaders within each partner who can influence opportunities, generate pipeline, and elevate Pure’s presence in their market. The PTM equips these Champion SEs through structured enablement, workload guidance, hands-on coaching, and joint customer engagements, ensuring they become highly effective advocates of Pure technology.

The PTM also serves as the trusted technical advisor and advocate for assigned partners, providing guidance across the sales cycle, capturing partner requirements, and communicating technical needs back to Pure. By aligning closely with Regional Sales, SE Leadership, Channel Teams, and PAMs, the PTM drives national cohesion around partner strategy, builds impactful programs, and ensures execution of technical and sales enablement plans.

Ultimately, the Senior PTM is responsible for strengthening partner technical capability, empowering Champion SEs, and driving measurable business impact through enhanced partner-led execution.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Represent Pure as a trusted technical advisor, promoting Pure’s architecture for all workloads and data (AI, Cyber Resilience, Databases, Modern Virtualization).
  • Align Pure’s go-to-market strategy with that of designated partners to ensure growth consistent with Pure’s objectives and long-term mutual success.
  • Define and execute regional technical account plans (TAPs) with key partners; monitor progress quarterly and optimize for measurable outcomes.
  • Build and strengthen relationships between Pure SEs and partner SE communities, including periodic onsite workdays and technical collaboration sessions.
  • Engage regularly with partner principals, executives, and sales leadership to align technical priorities, joint plans, and business outcomes.
  • Conduct joint sales calls, architectural discussions, and technical reviews with partner SEs — using these as coaching opportunities to build self-sufficiency.
  • Shadow partner SEs through discovery, design, sizing, and proposal phases — transitioning ownership as confidence grows.
  • Enable partner SEs to independently deliver Pure Value Reviews (PVRs) to customers, uncovering new opportunities in the installed base.
  • Deliver technical enablement sessions, bootcamps, and sales training for partner SEs and sales teams, ensuring strong articulation of Pure’s value proposition.
  • Develop and manage technical enablement plans for assigned partners; track progress against readiness, certification, and autonomy milestones.
  • Provide ad-hoc technical support for partner-led opportunities, configurations, and evaluations, while transitioning to Pure support teams when appropriate.
  • Mentor new PTMs and partner SEs, fostering consistency and knowledge sharing across the ecosystem.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitive technologies and Pure’s differentiation in storage, AI, data protection, and hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Participate in partner and distributor business reviews to assess technical maturity, identify gaps, and define next-step actions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Enablement teams to align partner technical strategy and resource deployment.
  • Coordinate partner training activities with corporate enablement, ensuring toolsets and materials are current and localized.
  • Actively contribute to partner-driven marketing or industry events as a technical speaker or subject-matter expert where appropriate.
